Killer Rework Series: The Trapper

This is a series that I'm making, whether or not I get any attention for this. The idea is that i offer suggestions on how to improve certain underpowered killers (not based on stats) and improve their viability. My ultimate end goal is to get a killer as good as what Demogorgon theoretically is (around A Rank), while keeping the spirit of the original killer. I will also introduce QoL changes and update their power descriptions to how the most recent killers' descriptions are.

Let's start with the poster child, Edward McMillan - I mean Evan!

Original power - Bear Trap:

A large foothold trap made of steel. Traps are found lying around the area waiting to be picked up and set anywhere.

  • Immobilises and injures trapped Survivors
  • Sabotaged traps return after 3 minutes.

New Power: McMillan's Craft

Your passion for elaborate traps was born from a history of neglect.

BEAR TRAP

10 Bear Traps spawn around the map, armed and ready to pick up. You can hold up to 3 Bear Traps at a time. Press the Ability Button to set a trap on the ground. Survivors can disarm traps, revealing them temporarily.

° You see the auras of these Bear Traps at all times.

° Survivors who step in a bear trap become Immobilized for a set amount of time.

° Survivors can break free at a success rate of 25%. Survivors can break trapped survivors at a higher 45% percent success rate.

° Survivors who do break free become injured. The Trapper can also pick up survivors from Bear Traps, picking the Bear Traps up in the process.

° Traps that are disarmed or that have been escaped must be reset manually.

SPECIAL ABILITY: GENERATOR SABOTAGE

Any time you damage a generator, that generator becomes sabotaged for 20 seconds, indicated by a large amount of sparks flying out. Survivors who touch that generator instantly cause it to explode and regress for 25%, and highlighting that generators aura. Sabotaged generators damaged this way do not regress.

SPECIAL ATTACK: TRAP ON A ROPE

Pressing the Special Attack Button will allow you to enter a channeling action for 5 seconds, affixing a Bear Trap in your inventory to a rope. With a Bear Trap on a Rope, you can press the Special Attack Button again to toss it directly in front of you. If it hits a survivor:

° It gets consumed, and you must make another Bear Trap on a Rope. The Bear Trap is returned to your inventory.

° It damages that survivor down one health state.

° If a survivor is injured by this attack, they can be pulled Slightly towards The Trapper by pressing the Special Attack Button again.

° Survivors can avoid being pulled in by throwing pallets.

° If a survivor tries to vault over a window or pallet when they are pulled in, their animation is cancelled and they are pulled to the side they begun the mount.

New interactions: Sabotage simply decreases the time it takes to disarm a trap. It also allows you to save yourself at a 55% success rate, and other survivors with 95% success rate.

Slippery Meat increases your self saving chances to 80% instead.

The current issues with trapper are a lack of generator stall, an ironic lack of map pressure, and little chase potential. Current Trapper also suffers from the need to 3 gen to be effective with some games. Giving him more active traps should allow for more flexibility and less set-up time. Although the new attack is a little out of line with Trapper, they should still boost the main character's chase potential quite a bit, especially if survivors aren't playing around loops properly (if at all).
