The color red helps me hit great skill checks.
Counter productive for Ruin, right? I had the do 6 great skill checks with the perk "This is Not Happening" (I wasn't injured when doing the challenge mostly), I tried to do healing great skill checks and it was awful, it was a pain for me, I either missed or failed all together, but for Ruin, the red color sat in my brain and was easy for me to see and make out.
I was playing with @GrootDude and @Cornpopers_Evan
As Groot said, the color red is easy and noticeable, you see it often so it's easy to register in your mind, rather than getting a white skill check on a white map like Lery's.
It as well is the my idea of the need to hit the skill check, there's more pressure unlike the white skill checks.

I don't really do better or worse because of the color of the skill checks. There are definitely some maps where the red is a bit easier on the eyes than white, but I think on most maps it's the opposite. On the other hand, that killer perk that shrinks the entire range? That one just makes Greats so much easier to hit for me.

Use ruin as an excuse to get better at the checks!! but yeah it does actually help

I struggle more with red than white, mainly because I'm trying to hit the Great on a Ruin check, but since console has a slight delay, I end up panic pressing too early and set off the gen. Whites however I seem to be able to do easily.

Console DBD's skillchecks are hardcore delayed, full of lag, etc, makes hitting one hard when it's buggy and drops frames on one, I guess it's just me.
Exactly! I've done better ever since, but not having Ruin doesn't make you feel a need to hit the skill check so it might be that too why it may be harder for me.

It's frustrating. I've learned to time it a little better, but the delay is still annoying to deal with. It even happens with vaults or pallets too, which makes life tougher too, but I guess we just gotta adapt until consoles finally see a decent FPS rate

No, it's the feeling you need to hit the check. Few maps blend in with white more than red.

Same tbh. I find myself hitting a lot more greats when I'm against Ruin.

Especially if you use Lithe, Dead by Daylight struggles hardcore with me vaulting, I'll get rubberbanded if I use Lithe so I tend not to.

I've found it to be the opposite actually. At least for me. The red is hard for me to distinguish. I wish we had more color options.

I’m in the camp that finds red harder to hit great skill checks with than white.

I agree that the colour really does affect my ability to see the "great" more clearly but I think its more the fact that you feel a pressure to hit that skillcheck.
If Ruin isn't up its so rare to see someone still try to hit a great because they have this huge safety net that is less risky. When you know Ruin is going to mess up your day if you don't hit the great, you become more focused and actually perform better than you would without that pressure. I can breeze through Ruin skillchecks but struggle if there is no ruin.

I got rid of laggy skill checks by setting my tv to gaming mode from the settings. I recommend u check if your tv has gaming mode

Never thought of that. I'll have a check on my settings. Thanks for the tip :)

Thanks friend!

Same here actually, I only hit greats on ruin checks for some reason
1 -
I personally hit great skillchecks without ruin 99% of the time. However, with ruin it dips down a bit to 70-ish% for some reason. Idk if it's the colour, fps, or the actual great skillcheck zone being smaller
1 -
The zone is not smaller at base I believe, don't quote me on that, could be it's the color is unfamiliar, fps is for sure a good reason with frame drops, you might just struggle.

Probably more pressure to hit a great skill check under Ruin to avoid the progress halt. Color of the check does not matter to me though white skill checks next to bright lights or fire are more concealed to me I have to look off to the side.
I'll hit great Ruin checks consistently unless...another survivor is working on the same gen; I get performance anxiety.

I think it is placebo, since we dont value great skill checks the way we do hex ones and that causes us to dont really notice them
