Could you add a way to change your In-game name on Consoles like Xbox and Ps4 Devs/Mods
i see that people on PC can change their in-game names all the time especially on you tube but i play on Xbox i have my gamer-tag. i was wondering if maybe you could add a system in-game that allowed you to change your name to add a little fun and make it to where if they click on your name in-game it just took you to their profile and maybe add an option to not allow other survivor or killers to click on your name and go to your out of game profile. i have a problem with other survivors being annoying and spamming me with party invites and i dont want to have to block all notifications but i have to because of this or killers saying "yOu WaNNa fARm?" every few games and then having other survivors farm me and me be dead in the first 2 minutes of the game cause i refused to farm. this would be an awesome customization that PC players enjoy but Xbox and Ps4 miss out on and i would love for this to exist.

That is almost a completely separate thing from the game.
We change names using Steam, which is the platform PC users use to play DBD.
Changing your name would have to come in the form of your Xbox gamer-tag or PS4 username, not from the game itself.
Plus it would be a fruitless endeavor even if they could.
Also, this game does not have dedicated servers. Which has a great affect one what they can and cannot do with information and data.

I’m so happy you can’t change names on PS4. There are quite a few toxic people and they are easily avoided because the feature you suggest doesn’t exist.4

yeah but its 9.99 every time i want to change my gamer tag what i am suggesting is not that hard and dedicated servers doesn't matter and have anything to do with this change. they added into the game where people can click on your name and go to your profile they can add an option that disables this as well as making a little entry point in the settings that allows you to change what your in-game name says. and no it wouldnt be fruitless it would stop toxic people from complaining after a match saying im trash because i didnt save them even know leatherface was camping with the chansaw or other killers are asking to farm and calling me a hacker cause their internet is so bad they cant hit me. it would also make it to where you dont have to change your name on steam everytime you want to change your name and idk if people can click on your name on steam but it would stop them from clicking on it. and you can still report people with the button they added next to peoples thing after-game. i have seen this option in othergames i have played in the past.

ok well im sorry i forgot about that truly but it still doesnt mean you should go to posts especially a non game changing one like this one that is only trying to stop all the toxicity after matches on console since i killer can spam you along with other survivors with messages saying your trash when you were the one who escaped through the hatch and survived past everyone else

you can change your ingame name on pc by changing your steam name but thats free to do. on xbox and ps4 it requires like 10 dollers everytime i think they should add a ingame system to allow name change it would have to be checked first or they could add a new report feature for inapropiate name and it would save it even if they changed thier name

On consoles your name is unique because it is bound to your PSN /Xbox identityyeah but the devs could add a in-game system that aloud anyone to change thier name in-game only while also adding settings that could block people from clicking your name and going to your steam/ps4/xbox one accounts. on xbox we dont have a end game messaging and so we get bombarded with hate messages on xbox or we got spammed with invites forcing us to block them. if another survivor i couldnt save couldnt click on my name and be able to message me then it would stop them from being toxic towards me and i go on my merry way. now these names would have to be accepted first but if accepted we could change our name to virtually anything as long as it doesnt include any bad words or anything else the devs decide to add. now say you wanted friends only to see your gamertag like underneath or above your fake name that could be another option. again it doesnt matter if steam allows free name changes and xbox/ps4 dont this in game option would allow people like me to change my name to something with nea. it could also be possible to allow multiple names to exist at once so say alot of people wanted to have thier name be Nea or Nea Karlson they could or say i wanted to be a Cult leader and have Cultists i could. anyone who says this is a bad idea is a toxic person who loves being able to spam/message to people. i mean you see people on steam check survivor play hours and if its too high sometimes they leave well with this it could be blocked and same for killer. on xbox its the same way if a killer sees someone with alot of hours on dbd they will just leave the lobby its not that hard to click compare games it takes like 10 secs. i would really like a mod to give thier feedback since i clearly asked the DEVS/MODS not people who want to criticise something that has no effect on the base game except making it more custimizable. if the devs want to ban toxic names they can do that too

You're asking for separate things though. On playstation you flat out CAN'T change your username on the system. On XBox you can for a fee. I'd be willing to place a bet that both Sony and MS have a terms of service for developers that specifically DOESN'T allow players to change their name in game for lots of reasons.
Set your online settings to display as offline when you don't want to be invited party chats.

i didnt know that about ps4 and if your offline on xbox you still can get party invites and messages they could at least add a option to stop people from seeing/clicking your name and going to your profile on console and pc

I wouldn't mind having this as an option so I can change my name to something silly but sadly I dont think Microsoft and Sony would allow it, I know on xbox you can change it for a price but I dont think you can actually change it on playstation. It would be nice though0
