Who even thought about this Ruin change?

Seriously, was Ochido part of this? I would believe it. While I understand that the intention was to make "less frustrating to play" for new players, it totally ignores the higher rank scenarios. These changes are survivor biased. Period.

The initial minutes of the game are pretty much definitive. Any experienced killer will know that when facing players who know the game, they will start making generators immediately, finishing one or two very fast. Not only myself, but many others have faced scenarios where you put great pressure on survivors, but if only two of them are working on one gen, they can cripple your entire game, making this "change" totally useless at the late game.

It's totally understandable to consider your new player base, but don't ignore those who have been playing for years, get paired with competent and experienced players that know the game, already struggling with the inconscitencies of design and crippling them more than before. Ask any experienced killer who actually knows the game and they will agree.

It would be great if you re-consider this, if not, there's no real incentive to play killer. Playing survivor's easier, so why bother, right? Making it easier for survivors when killers have it 30+ harder 🧐

I really do hope that only the theory sounds bad, because if not, this has oficially been the best start for Dead by Daylight this year: killing the killers ;)

PS: If you don't agree with what I've said, sure. I'm reading, but go play killer in ranks 1-5 and tell me if this changes reflect that gameplay. Change my mind.

    A lot of Killers use Ruin. A lot of Survivors use Adrenaline. The biggest and worse mistake that behavior has made is allow SWF to become a thing.

    Communication is a huge nerf to every Killer. The ability to call out a Killers position stance and direction is way to powerful it's why there is no comms in the actual game. Why do you think there is only a handful of actually landmarks in game.

    Anyway I'm done playing Killer for a good bit better start learning all those loops.

    It's great to play with friends, but the problem is that I believe, the first design is not compatible with this mode, thus making these changes very inconsistent. I don't have problem with Ruin as survivor or Adrenaline as killer, the problem is they ignore facts like what you said: trapper is unplayable at higher ranks because you put a trap, and the SWF group know where, so when you move, it's already disabled, crippling your power. Lol.

    So, yes. Ruin is pretty much mandatory and yes, you can play without it (I myself have done it and had some great games) but then it's about survivors making mistakes, not a fair competition, and good survivors don't make mistakes and if they do, the game rewards mistakes (dead hard, adrenaline, balanced landing, whatever). And even though, it's a struggle without it.

    Yes, it's plausible for lower ranks, but experienced players are the ones more impacted from this, and these changes are RIDICULOUS.
