Playing New Doctor 101

Use only Static Blast to tier up survivors madness, but try not to let them hit T3. then play the game as an M1 killer while taking advantage of your hallucinations. Don't even attempt to use it as a tracking tool until there are only 2 survivors left in the match.

Shock therapy is pointless now:

  1. If you catch a survivor in the open, you're better off hitting them than shocking.
  2. If you have them at a loop/pallet... because of the 3 second "cooldown" and 1 second charge up time, Shock Therapy isn't going to prevent them from vaulting or dropping the pallet before you can hit them anyway.
  3. "Its to drive up their madness" you say? Sure, why not put them in T3 madness that only prevents them from healing or doing gens, but they can snap out of ridiculously easy and go back to T1 madness where they no longer experience the doctors hallucinations/afflictions? /s
  4. Shock Therapy still has a delay after you shock before it hits the survivors. This was already punishing enough to get right timing on in order to stop survivors from using pallets and vaults, but the 3 second delay preventing you from attacking afterwards is just brutally punishing to players trying to use it. Survivors still get 2.5 seconds of not being able to do those things, but that's no help to the Killer in any way, so it might as well not exist. At least Clown can still strike survivors immediately after hitting them with a bottle (seriously #########?).

I have so far played 10 games with new doc, and this was the only tactic that worked.

As for his Add-ons:

Iri Queen doesn't help this play style at all as it drives up their madness surprisingly much faster, Neither does Order, or Discipline aside from the lowest tier of those.

Calm is still good,

Restraint's still garbage (duration of the hallucination isn't nearly as useful as appearance Frequency to killers using it to track survivors devs),

Interview tape + High stimulus electrode doesn't seem to stack anymore so "farewell sniper doc."

There's Literally no reason or even motivation to use Shock Therapy (since Static Blast does it better), or to bring survivors up to Madness T3 since that's giving them a free pass to stop experiencing your afflictions. Also regardless of what the patch notes say, Doctor DOES NOT LAUGH when successfully hitting a survivor with Static Blast or Shock Therapy if they have Calm Spirit... which makes CS an even Harder counter to Doc than it was before.

Calm Spirit is never ran anyway, especially in red ranks, all you'll see is second chance perks.

Say hi to Snap out of it, what Feral Frenzy should be, no repairing or healing until mended.

    Tier 3 madness is useless.

The 3 second cooldown is ridiculous, it makes the power pointless as you said.

With whispers, the Static Blast seems useful but the high cooldown time makes it very situational.

With a lot of effort I am getting a 1k each trial at best.

As other players posted, DBD is now a theme park attraction, survivors comes, gets amused and leave the trial unharmed and happy on treating the killers like idiots.

    Make madness 2 permanent again.

Remove the Snap out of it giant nerfs.

Remove the delay after shock completely.

madness 3 feels so lame now that they can just snap out of it so easily without losing progress and it also takes them all the way to madness 1.

It’s obvious that the plan all along was to nerf Doctor into the ground because of the rank 20 Survivors. Here is my suggestions on how to fix him.

    1. All Snap Out of It changes should be reverted. Those skill checks are pretty big and if you can’t hit them, then that’s your fault. Going down to tier 1 is a terrible change because it makes you not want to get the Survivor to tier 3 because you’ll lose your afflictions from the add-ons. Madness 2 is actually stronger than Madness 3 now.
    2. The Shock Therapy cooldown is probably the worst idea here. I don’t think you actually have time to take advantage of the stun. The cooldown should be removed so you can take advantage of the full 2.5 second stun. It’s not even worth it to shock instead of going for a hit. I’ve heard that this is going to be fixed and hopefully it will be.
    3. What is with you guys and significantly reducing movement speed when Doctor is trying to use an ability? Nobody had problems with him using the Static Field in a chase. The Static Blast doesn’t even stun the Survivor. Moving at 67% while charging Shock Therapy makes it even more useless.
    4. A 10% range increase on Shock Therapy isn’t enough. It needs to be a 25% increase. This makes me think that none of the dev team plays enough Doctor and only took feedback from low rank Survivors.
    5. 60 seconds is waaay too long of a cooldown on an ability that only reveals your location. That’s a long time in this game. You could complete a good portion of a gen in that time. It needs to be 20-30 seconds maximum at base.
    6. The Obedience add-on needs to get the Exhaustion effect back. Survivors will get used to counter clockwise skill checks. That should be a part of his base kit instead of being part of an add-on. The Exhaustion effect was very helpful and not overpowered, unless you were a bad Survivor of course.
