Here's the problem... LISTEN! *Navi's voice
Devs want to help new players to keep the players database growing, but they need to see that LOYAL players like us green to red ranks need to be pleased too... Making yellow and grey survivors "not afraid" and helping them "have a chance" cause it's where most of the database is (there are more survivors than killers) is gonna kill the game eventually...
Doctor, Legion and Clown have been in need of buffs for months now and gen slowdown perks are needed for them to function as they are right now...
Matchmaking is broken and even without RUIN, you Devs need to know that playing in a lobby with 1 red rank and 3 grey or yellow ranks vs a red or purple rank killer is still gonna give new players a bad experience...
You need to focus on core issues like matchmaking and DCers more than in nerfing or buffing things to "help new player's experience for them to stay in the game"...
Damn, I'm quite sure more than half of your database doesn't even know what is a reportable offense!
Communication guys! Listen to your players! Ask! Make polls! Ask for Gamertags and check the player's rank on your own! Check who is asking for the nerfs! Need an example? Me and my friends (purple to red ranks) NEVER complain on either moris, NOED, RUIN, or even the insta heals as they were before!
I love this game! Please use polls, registrations, etc. to help your desitions!

Sure, i'll always be for more communication.

Remember killers are as important as survivors!
No killers = Huge lobby waits + poor matchmaking

I mean it's crazy. I started playing this game in 2018 with old ruin and DS, and didnt give up on either side.
What did I do? Learned, played through, and got better.
Shame these days they feel like new players should just be able to turn it on and be professionals.

You can't fleece your community for as much money if your honest and open about stuff.
Or lock super needed perks behind a paywall.

You are giving me memories of Zelda, bad ones
2 -
That's the thing I don't understand. New players are going to eventually rank up to the point where they habe to go through the same challenges the veterans have to go through. I figure at that point they'll learn from everyone else's example and just quit.
1 -
Exactly! If that's what they want they should make a new mode with bots and that's it!
0 -
I know! Almost like a, tutorial, or a private mode with friends!
Oh wait, we HAVE those. They just dont reward experience for doing nothing!
Let's make a NEW mode: Bots, Blackjack, and Hookers.
Every skillcheck is a full circle of great, no killer, and only 2 gens that you cant mess up. That seems like it would please these people.
😆😆😂

BAD ONES?! ZELDA?! That only brings me good ones!

It’s not about new players turning it on and being professionals.
A player shouldn’t have to watch videos to learn your game. DbD is a very complex game and it doesn’t help that half the community of great players prey on the less experienced for fun. That’s misery for them.
But yes, let’s have that classic boomer mentality of “I learned the hard way, so should you”.
BHVR is smart not listening to this community. Most of you torment new players to the point word-of-mouth gives the game a bad rep. I have friends that won’t touch this game because of a few hours of bad gameplay due to toxic killer or survivor tactics. Even when I taught them how to play and they’re half-decent they still rarely play because it’s almost like PTSD, nobody wants miserable gameplay after waiting in a lobby and then having to watch your team play or wait until the survivors are done trolling you to move on.

Zelda is a good game but
LISTEN!

You don't have to watch videos to learn the game.
You play the game to learn it.
And if somehow YOU CANT GRASP THE CONCEPT, you can look up a video, just as EVERY OTHER GAMER HAS in tough spots.
Classic boomer mentality? I'm 29.
It's not a boomer mentality of "I learned hard, so should you".
It's common sense of "people shouldnt have things handed to them when they're capable of learning themselves."
Dont be a mindless sheep and think you should just be able to be good without practice. It's not how the world works hon.
Not to mention DC bans SHOULD be a thing. If you cant handle the game, dont play it. If youre emotionally/mentally not capable of handling loss, then why ruin everyone else's game.
"Real life issues or net problems" fix that ######### before you get back on the game.
TAKE SOME ######### RESPONSIBILITY.
And if you cant learn, dont like, or cant seem to play and have fun, then play something else. Dont ######### on our sandwich because you dont like the taste.

Don't worry, they hid the ranks so matchmaking doesn't even matter now and you'll never know if that was a poor rank 20 you just destroyed :)

I don't mean to argue sir, but DBD is like that, it's a circle... Devs mess with killers cause they are barely 20% of their DB, they nerf them and make them not enjoyable IN A HORROR GAME, what do you think those killers feel when finally getting to go against a noob or bad survivor?
BTW, I'm not one of those, I'm the killer who if I notice you're a noob you're gonna be left alone for the last kill for you to have a chance at the hatch, I don't tunnel, don't camp, happy to farm when a survivor DCed early in the game... Don't generalize, I've encountered HUNDREDS of killers who play like this, giving survivors a nice game, take it from a red rank killer and survivor.
About the DCing... It's just wrong, NEVER will a DC be justifiable, you're a human, not an animal, learn to control the feeling of loosing or feeling powerless when you're playing the survivor role... Even more in a horror game against a KILLER...
I am on @Carpemortum 's sideon this argument...
1 -
Exactly. When I'm killer and find people trying and failing, not trolling, but obviously out of their element (like when I dont play for 2 months and get rank 18 killer again >:] ) I try to be lenient. Try and dont give up or DC? You can finish fens and take hatch. Idfc, it's a game.
But people DCing, taunting then getting salty at a loss, or people WANTING THINGS HANDED TO THEM, is just sad.

There’s no true learnability in this game. Most of you complain about matchmaking but if the game isn’t fair towards casuals, you’ll never expand the player base.
“Boomer mentality” not directed personally towards you, but if it hurt then it must be true.
I’m 25, cause that matters? If you expect a person to hop into a game and have to spend countless hours to learn and actually continue to play, you’re wrong. There’s a plethora of games out there that you can jump right into for entertainment.
This game has nothing to do with common sense because the learning curve is HUGE.
If someone wants to quit a match, they should be allowed to. There are too many toxic players in this game that make it miserable for others and nobody should have to deal with it. We play games for enjoyment.
Talk about taking responsibility, the community needs to take responsibility for how they treat other players in the game and think on why the player base is so low and new players don’t come back.
Oh sorry, i forgot. People shouldn’t be so sensitive and if they are, “wE dOnT wAnT yOu hErE”, but wait, “BHVR FIX THE MATCHMAKING”
cant fix matchmaking with a dense player base.
0 -
Learning curve is huge? Have you ever played a Moba? R6 Siege? Anything with more than 20 playable opponents?
This game is ######### easy if you use your brain and dont give up after 2 days.
New players done leave because of the forums. They leave because they cant handle having to learn a game in the age of roblox. Players who come to the forums typically have stayed with the game more than 2 days.
You're simply attacking the playerbase and devs now because you have no argument other than "people saying git gud hurts peoples feelings".
You want your easy games? Minecraft and fortnite are waiting.
I'm done debating a brick wall devoid of independent thought.
And your boomer comment didnt hurt, I was just pointing out another generalization you're using for your ######### argument and how it was inaccurate.

I don’t recall asking anyone to take sides, so that’s irrelevant already.
And no, if a player wants to DC they can and should be able to. Simple as that. If you can’t handle someone DCing then you’re in the same position as that person DCing. Sometimes people have things come up, or don’t want to play against a certain group or with a group.
How do you think players would feel if there was a DC in COD where a team can spawn kill you?
Same as in DbD where an entire group of survivors can torment a killer or a killer can tunnel/camp a survivor.

Good sir, again, I'm sorry to say this is a SURVIVAL HORROR GAME, if you bought this thinking it would be easy to play...
In the most polite way I can say it, games like DBD, Last Year and even Secret Neighbour where the base is SURVIVING A KILLER should make you think that the survivor side is gonna be harder than the killer side
What does the "TRY TO SURVIVE" say to you?
DCing in any game is just not justifiable, now...
"If you can’t handle someone DCing then you’re in the same position as that person DCing."
Don't get me wrong, when I'm killer if someone DCs I don't get mad at it, I feel sorry for the team that now has to handle a good killer in a 3 v 1, which is why I tend to play on "easy mode" from that moment on, but lets be honest not everybody does this... And on the other side, if the killer felt so overwhelmed that he DCed then I feel pride for being better than the killer, again, IN A SURVIVAL HORROR GAME. Do you have any idea why TONS of games punish DCers? You affect your team, not the killer...

How are you comparing this to a MOBA? Also R6 Siege does not have a learning curve. That game is as simple as hopping on COD.
I never said players leave because of the forums, they leave because of the toxic communities gameplay.
You’re devoid of independent thought. Any person with a brain would understand how important attracting a casual audience is to video games. Why do you think games like Chivalry died off? And probably soon to be Mordhau (couldn’t say cause I’ve not touched my PC in months).
I’m experienced DbD but it’s hard to get my casual gamer friends to play because you have to learn many tactics as survivor and be good at least looping to survive in most cases and as a killer, good luck to new players with no grasp on the system. You have 164 perks to choose a 4 slot combination from. It’s a complex system to new players.
Explain how you think it’s not? I had to play with friends that knew the game to learn, people I met on the game that have been playing. Then I played every day after work and the gym. It’s not a casual attractive game. That’s what BHVR needs to cater to, it’ll grow the player base thus helping matchmaking and separating ranks to where’s you precious entitled reds 1 can have all your toxic fun against each other and us reds 4 and up can enjoy the game.
0 -
Since we’re comparing games, you do know most of games have a casual mode where DCs are unpunished?
Implement a rank mode, oh wait, they can’t because the player base is ######### due to the reasons in this argument.
0 -
I'm sorry... WHAT?! Toxic reds?! LMAO! I have only been tunneled, camped, teabagged, slugged all game, mocked post game by green ranks and above! I love staying at purple and red cause that's where the good killers are, the ones that 3 - 4 k without toxicity, the world of purple and red where DCing is barely seen...
I'm on xbox, maybe that's the difference?
0 -
Again, matchmaking, in my experience, xbox, I can't generalize, toxicity roams low ranks, purple and red are amazing to play in, gen rushing is not toxic, it's a bad killer's fault on this ranks.
And as you can see, that's one of my arguments: CREATE A BOTS MODE (or it could be a casual mode) where you can do as you please, DC if you want, but stop nerfing killers to make the game more enjoyable to noobs or casual players... That is not the answer... Hey, I'm marking this: there have been justifiable nerfs in the past, but not lately.
0 -
I’m on Xbox as well. I have both. I play killer mostly and have no issues without the perk in question. In red rank.
”Toxicity” is spread through red-green. Never see it against Yellow.

Glad someone agrees. :)
