Is there a way to stop making splinters appear?

To start, I play on PS4 so I figure most players won't be able to help. However if so, please share some advice. Currently I own all licensed killers in the game however I bought them from the DBD store, rather than the Playstation store (with the exception of the Nightmare pack). However, splinters continue to appear and it's kind of irritating to buy these over, and over and I was wondering if there is anyway I can stop these from appearing in my bloodwebs?
