You Should Not Be Able To De-Rank To Grey
In my opinion this is probably one of the most broken aspects of the game, I was I believe rank 5 or so when I stopped playing in either September or October for a break
I'm now rank 17, and being matched up against completely new players. This is a massive problem for me. If I play to win I am going to absolutely ruin their experience and time, but if I don't play to win I'll be stuck in the grey ranks for bloody ever!
So I have to choose between slow progression or rapid progression so more new players don't have to get pit against someone with more experience then them
The best I can do is just play silly joke builds while playing to win to try make things easier for them

Atleast you get to play around with other builds while you slowly grind to the proper ranks.
I applaud you for taking into consideration the the impact going full bore on newbies can have.
And they often play so bad that you climb rather fast, cheers!

At least you dont get stuck at low ranks because of sweats with keys i legit cant get a pip because of keys or just the broken iridescent emblems 😐

What's worse about this whole mess is I can't even play killers I enjoy playing such as Bubba, Michael, or Ghostface
Because if your effective with their power too much your guaranteed to just barely safety pip, so I have to play killers that draw the game out for as long as possible
Which is again VERY difficult when your going against people that are just learning the game! Even unaware of a lot of stuff eventually the survivors realize that their extremely telegraphed 360s aren't actually working and something's up

It sux and I seem to run into these folks all the time.
My advice as a killer that has also deranked due to not playing. Play perkless or with just 1 perk. That's what I do. No addons because you know you have more experience.
Can't tell you how many killers I run into that have tier 3 ruin and bbq, pop, overcharge and say " just haven't played in awhile.
Then dont bring your OP stuff. Mellow and learn to play your killer with nothing.
