Idea on thematic map brightness

I’d love if at the start of a round the map was dark, like the new moon bouquet, but as more gens were done, the map would get brighter. This would help slow things down perhaps for survivors at the start of the match as they can’t see across the map anymore, and would help the killer early game. It would also be aesthetically pleasing and very thematic, also adding the ‘dead by daylight’ idea, which is the name of the game. At the start of the match, the killers vision would be brighter then the survivors, and would help him track early game. I also think shadowborn should additionally give the killer a slightly brighter field of view, but that’s another story.
@Peanits I like your opinions and views on things. What do you think of this? And everyone else can share their opinions, i’d REALLY love to see this implemented!

Sounds pretty cool. I like the idea of the map changing as the game progresses. The thing that concerns me is that it might deter stealth players, which aren't really an issue to begin with.

From a technical side, I'm not sure how possible it would be. I don't know if the game is capable of changing the lighting on the fly or if it's all baked in. I know the Unreal engine is capable of dynamic lighting, but it's possible they opted to bake in lighting to optimize the game.

Regarding shadowborn making things brighter: it used to, but when the engine updated, lighting changed, and the way lighting changes stacked together produced some unintended results. Things could end up way brighter or darker than they should. This is also why the moonlight offerings are more or less removed, only being available in KYF or if you already had some.

Devs said that they removed offering like moon bouquet from the game becuase they were to lazy taking into account all the different light lvls when designing a map.
