People like to play with friends. It used to balance on the group average, but the Devs would rather a red rank killer bully a rank 20 then have a game with 2 rank 20 and 2 red ranks vs a green rank killer.

Doctor rework is a slight buff, but initial patch notes and bugs in the PTB made it look like a nerf.
Ruin did not get buffed. Its true, killers didnt like ruin, but thats because gens early game are going too fast, not everyone wants to play Billy all the time to counter that, so they were forced to use ruin. Ruin was the only early game slowdown perk, now its gone, but gen speeds are the same. People cleansing ruin was not a problem, that little slowdown was enough.
New ruin doesnt do its job either, it rewards you for pressuring gens, but it means its only good mid game, and by that time its cleansed. Not to mention that it COMPLETLY BLOCKS use of Pop Goes the Weasel, Surge, or any regression perks. Its synergy with Surveillance is cool, but once again: it can be cleansed and doesnt do ######### early game.

Sure but even if that is the case what would happen without ruin? They get tunneled and die cause they have no clue on what to do or how to loop. Not exactly fun either but for him it was about ruin.

Well too bad. You dont bring your friends who play ASG or paintball to a real warzone and expect them not to get slaughtered.

I don't even think NOED is particularly good against competent players. It is just capable of snowballing if players don't just cut their losses and leave ASAP.
Thana and Make Your Choice are only useful on certain Killers.

They break it a lot. I rarely get games to match my rank on either side.

What i have read is that they are gonna hide the ranks on the scoring board, so my guess is that they are getting rid of ranks.
And reading the part of the ruin chance where they say, when Newbies trying to help vetran players, makes me think more they gonna do that.

Not sure what was wrong with that comparision, but what I meant is that if you invite complete noob into a battle between experienced players, then the noob is obviously going to get slaughtered, and you cant balance game around that. If you dont want to go against killers stronger than you, then dont play with teammates stronger than you. Thats all. IMO people should get more points for playing against stronger players, be it because of broken matchmaking or SWF.

Im just saying...I can understand ppls frustration at this point. If it was a new issue, ok...abit of patience...they'll fix it. Whens its been going on for months though, its hard to just keep buying that anyones hard at work to fix it. Eventually, it just comes across as lip service to shut up whoever is currently complaining about it.

Makes sense really. If ranks arnt gonna be shown and they keep getting all mixed up in matchmaking anyway...whats the point of having ranks appear in the game?

I'm not looking to get into an argument, but do you have a source for your claim that lower ranks are "The Majority"? With how easy it is to rank up as a survivor, I would think most lower ranks are new players and the majority of players reside in mid ranks from 8-12. Heck, I got to rank 4 as a survivor playing immersive and not being able to loop a killer at all.
I don't think the devs are doing this for the majority, I think they're doing this to increase the playerbase by making it easier for new customer, while the loyal customers are left to anguish.

ITT: Hypocritical OP complaining about them perceiving 'the other side' (killer) as review bombing, taking the only recourse they have to poor development decisions, when 'their side' (survivor) has done the same thing time and time again during the game's development. Why do you think we have SWF? Survivor review bombing.

People forgot the fact that new players dced so fast and reviewed bombed the game when freddy and legion came out because they couldn't and didn't know how to play against them and they nerfed them into the ground to the point they became worst killers at the time (and legion is still garbage).

Legion's changes weren't down to new players; that was the community as a whole because they were horrific for the game.
That Legion is bad now is down to the devs' unwillingness to make them viable, not because of the community.

They could have changed the Deep Wound mechanics earlier without flat out neutering Legion, besides the amount of DCs against Legion did influence the decision.

It's not my fault or anyone elses fault your friends didn't want to learn and be handed everything now as I stated what happens if they actually try to learn how to play instead of oh well who cares they would notice how unbalanced this game is rank one survivors have a 20% higher win then even rank 2 survivors that how big a gap it is between people who learn or not

In my opinion ruin is fine now. Making it a non hex perk would make it too strong. The current version is a hex perk and meets the requirements of being high risk high reward. Which is why they are hex perks. Gen-rush is it's own problem that a perk can't fix. There needs to be a second objective or something that makes survivors do more in trials. It would also make it less boring to play survivor because of M1 simulator. And would also give the killer more time to ya know KILL!

Decisive Strike is as good as always, 60 second protection from "tunneling", can be only countered by slugging.
Unbreakable is the ultimate counter to slugging. Killers dont like to slug much, but DS forces them to.
Borrowed Time is the only counter to real tunneling, still very strong.
Adrenaline is free heal for everyone if you genrush well, + bonus for slugging because of fear of DS.
Surviviors don't seem nerfed to me, out of 4 meta perks, 1 is completly broken, 1 is strong and has synergy with the broken perk, 1 is okay and 1 is the strongest situational, but has synergy with genrush and the broken perk.
Nerf of Balanced Landing is not enough to call surviviors nerfed.
Everybody goes crazy on forums because the:
Strongest killer perk, the only passive slowdown perk, the only early game slowdown perk, the only anti-genrush perk and the most popular perk gets nerfed for dumb, and ridiculously explained reason, without even mentioning the real source of the problem and instead explaining that its "because of gatekeeper emblem". If thats not enough for an outrage, no matter how justified the nerf is, then I don't know what else do you need.
Again: ruin did not get a buff
Killers wanted reduced gen time so they can stop using ruin as a crutch on killers that don't even need setup time, not ruin "buff"
Even devs stated that ruin rework is a nerf, the problem is that gen times are staying the same, while ruin now has a completly different role, that not only is not fitting for a hex perk, but also not fitting its source killer: Hag.
Ruin was never teribble, 0% progress on Greats is way better than instant 5%. Cleansing time is RNG, but 2 minutes with ruin is a lot, even 1 minute helps. If ruin was bad, then why would 80% people in high ranks use it.
I feel like you dont even play killer, its impossible to not know that if you ever used ruin.
