Proposal: Take game chat off the game.

In my humble opinion, after 1700+ hours of gameplay, lobby chat and end game chat never had any useful function but spreading toxicity, insults of every kind, harassment (even death wishes). If it had a useful function, i could understand its presence, but never had one. To lower the toxicity behind this game, take the end game chat out of the game would be a much cleaner choice. People insult and the other answer back. Yeah you can report players with bad manners, but if you take in consideration to take the chat off the game, you wouldn't need to do any insult-harassment report. This is my opinion about it.

On each platform there is a way to disable incoming messages. Steam edngame chat is actually the easiest to hide and once you do you never have to see it again.

I don't understand why would want it removed - I bet some people like to say their GGs after a match and maybe briefly discuss something interesting that happened during the game. I don't think that option should be taken away just because of a few bad eggs.

I would prefer not too. I actually very often have nice convertation with the other players after the match

Finally. Well in my game experience, some ggs a part, i see only discussion with bad manners, not very constructive. Yeah i can hide the chat, i know that, but i was talking about the general toxicity behind the game. Toxicity is very strong on DbD. My goodness.

Steam: The game Chat can be hidden

Ps4 and Xbox: Turn messages to Friends only or use do not disturb and EVOID messages

If you're really getting so many toxic messages there you go. But remember not everyone is toxic. There are some real Sweethearts in this community.

I met nice people as well, don't get me wrong, but "ggs" a part, the chat doesn't have any useful function, even in lobby one. People don't talk about "which strategy" you could use. Just jokes and whatever.

Chat or no chat in post-game, there's always going to be ways for people to continue being toxic. That being said, I'm on Xbox, and I've received a fair few messages from actual nice people who just gg me for a good game, or compliment how I played. People should just ignore these toxic players. The moment you even react to them, they win.

Yeah but at least you don't have to witness their toxicity, and people often react btw. I see rare cases of people not reacting to these players. Very rare, but i witnessed many long discussions in end game with insults and harassments of various kind, and then you don't play the game in a good mood.

You can avoid the chat by just leaving the match right after, and you probably can disable chat outright. If you talk back to the people who’re trash talking nothing is going to change, you’re feeding their ego and they’ll continually refute you (or try to).

Just drop a GG and leave if you have that many issues with it.

Removing game chat imo would be bad for the game because people find it fun and only play dbd because they can be mean on chat. I think they need to just have a filter out bad words thing in chat
