Early game - Mid game - End game
Since I heard alot about Ruin nerfed that take away Early game for Killers. So whats your define the meaning of "Early game" in DBD? And when the game reaches to Mid game?
- Is it the first 2 Gens as Early game?
- Is it the game not pass 5min yet?
For me, there is no such as Early game since there is only ONE objective for Survivors (Gen), and ONE objective for Killer (Kill). Only End game as 5 Gen done as Survivor, and killing the last survivor as Killer. So a game start already in Mid game, its about how long that Mid game will last (5 Gen or 3 Kill) until the End game.
For the game to be more interesting. Early game, Survivors should unable to do Gen (as they must do another things before start on Gen); and Killer should do something else rather than chase kill Survivor (as they must set up stuff around the map as their wish before they can chase Survivors effectively, or eventually able to spot a Survivor like they step on a trap that doesnt hurt Survivors but make noise noti to Killers)
DBD doesnt need a new patch or new characters. DBD needs a whole re-design. A DBD2

Early game is often defined as (before ruin nerf) 0-2 gens done. Mid game was defined as 2-3 and late game was defined as 3-5. End game was then when all gens were done.
After ruin nerf, it will probably be early game as the 60 or so seconds before 3 gens pop, then mid game is 3-5, and end game being after the gens pop. There really isn't a late game post ruin nerf because the gens just go way too quickly.

I cant tell that 2 Gen is Early game. It can be 99% 4-5 Gen and then suddenly 4-5 Gen done. Does that mean there is no Mid game? Its not like this happens, but it can.
For the opposite, after 10min, 3K and still 0-1 Gen done. Does that mean the game is still in Early game?
I mean, there is only 2 phase: 5 Gen and the Gates/last survivor. Which is why I feel like the game doesnt have Early game. There should be something different do to for both side before Chasing/Fixing.

Id say
Early Game: 5-4 Gens left and no one dead
Mid Game: 3 Gens left and no one dead
Late Game: 2-1 gen and no one dead OR 1 person dead before any amount of gens done.
I say this because once survivors lost a member its basically a GG unless they have a god tier looper on their hands.

According to your classification, i am already in late game when i got 1 hook lol (1 hook = 3 gens)

Oh you misunderstood me. What i mean is if i versus good SWF team, the moment i got 1 hook, 3 gens are done, which means i already gotten into late game according to your classification

The way I perceive it, the midgame starts after the second or third hook, or after the equivalent of two generators has been completed. Anything before that is early game. (The reason I say "the equivalent of two generators" is because the generator counter can be deceptive as a game stage indicator if significant progress has also been made on uncompleted generators).
Mid-game lasts until there are only 1-2 generators left, or until the killer has achieved about eight hooks. At that point, the game enters the late game.
The late game lasts until either three people are dead, or all generators are completed. I refer to anything from that point onwards as the endgame (which includes, but is not limited to, the EGC).
Again, this is just the way I perceive it in my head, other people may have slightly different definitions for each stage.

Its easier to said early game are first 3 min... Nie game until all gens are popped which differences eur to experience or stuff what surv do.. And late game is when gens are done

Although I couldn't care less about having a very defined Early, Mid and End game, I do like the idea of having an "early mission" like collecting gen repair parts through out the map (would be a team effort and would have a count like the gens have). And to prevent the "no setup" killers to start everything to fast, the killers (or at least some of them) would have to go get the weapons and/or assemble them or something. But it would change the game a lot and would change ballancing a lot in the early stages so I don't see that happen!

Early game is : Until 1 gen is done (4 left)
Mid game is : Until 3 gens are done (2 left)
End game is : Until all survivors escaped or died or a mix of both
This is why Ruin was used, to gain enough time to at least hook one survivor before 1 gen is done.

Early game is 3 gens done by the time I get my first hook, mid game is when the last Gen already popped and I'm chasing while being super stressed and late game is cleaning up the damn mess.

I see early game as your first chase.
Mid game as anywhere between the first chase and when the Exit Gates are powered on.
Late game when the Exit Gates are powered on.

It's a concept based on perception... Another subjective argument...
Example:
Early game: first 5 mins into the game, first 2 gens done, first hooked survivor, etc.
Mid game: from minute 5:01 to 10:00, from gen 3 to gen 4 being done, first kill to 2 hook for everyone
End game/ late game: minute 10:01 to the end, from gen 5 to escapes, from 2nd kill to 4th kill

I think you are completely right, and there’s a reason for that: momentum shift
the Early Game phase is when survivors and killers are still placing their pieces on the board - survivors are trying to push the first generators and the killer is trying to find them, understand their play style and possibly break a few pallets. The momentum is revolving around discovery (of the generators, of the survivors, of the totems, of the rng spawns..).
in the Mid Game almost everything has been discovered, and it’s time to be more tactical in which generators to complete to avoid a 3 gen situation, which survivor should be chased to optimise the team hook states, which survivor the killer should chase to avoid wasting its time. The momentum is about resources optimisation.
in the Late Game every mistake is paid with blood, since survivors are on their last hook and/or if a key generator is completed the last one will be nearly impossible to defend. The momentum is about defence over offence.
Every momentum shift happens more or less when you stated: first couple of hooks or generators / survivors on last hook or last couple of generators / time in between

I agree with you, that sounds like quite a reasonable explanation. It's all about what's driving the game at each point, what each role's priorities are, and where the balance of power sits between the two.
