so, how is that "late game hex perk" working for everyone?

we all know that no hex perk will last to late game, not sure why BHVR listed that as a PRO of this "new and better ruin". devs are so survivor biased it is not even funny. so tell me, how has new ruin treated you? I used it 1 game and it did next to nothing

It usually gets broken soon in, as before.

It actually lasted til one gen left (late game perk!) on one match paired with surveillance and it saved my ass, I was doc, it was disturbed ward and the survivors knew how to run the building.

you must of fulfilled the prophecy, what's next? the devs fixing their game?

simply not using it, it does very little when is active and as a late game hex it never stands that long.

    Basically a wasted slot,unexistent perk.

The prophecy will only truly be fulfilled when I get mettle of man to activate twice

every opinion should be listened actually. I gave credit to devs and did wait till i could play this ruin for some days, althought I already imagined it would be useless.

Now there are proofs that was simply a wrong choice. Surely they did it thinking it was a good choice, everyone can make a mistake. But imo that's what it was ultimately: a mistake.

Either it gets cleanse immediately or it just doesn't help much when it lasts.

Besides I'm more of a Weasel kind of guy.

Not even going to try it, but Noed is amazing. So many games I get bullied, or they seem to be a 2k game but when Noed kicks in everyone dies 😃

I am currently rank 12 soo ruin has been lasting a lot, still doesn't last until the end of the match

I thought it would be a buff for legion, however no dice. All it ends up being is a other objective to try and defend. Which is impossible if you put less pressure on gens they go up so fast.

Thsts speaking of the times when it isn't immediatky cleansed as a result spawning next to survivors.

I think the reason why hex totems arent really useful nowdays it's because of old ruin. Since it was used on most matches, survivors have already memorized the spawns -- wich was not that hard, specially on the OG maps.

Now that ruin doesnt really apply much pressure on early game (at least not enough so they just run around trying to find it) it would be a good time to make a complete totem spawn overhaul; it would take longer for people to memorize it and it will become more useful depending of your playstyle.

As for now, I would suggest, if running new ruin, trying to guard 3 gens next to the totem. It seems the most efficient way to use it right now.

Usually gets destroyed right after the first right after the first gen pops, before I can walk my ass to where the survivors are

1 of the match today I bring ruin and NOED with trapper. 6 minute after the game start I 4k all with NOED. BTW ruin was up until end game.

    My conclusion. NOED is good.

Pretty good, actually, tried it with hag and despite her being bugged my ruin still managed to last all game and I got a 3k with last survivor escaping through hatch.

It seemed okay to me, though I play a lot of the boogeyman, and most people won't stay near a gen if I am even in viewing distance. Also works pretty well on Demogorgon. If I get a half way decent gen teleporter set up. It isn't the strongest, but it's okay. I'm the weird one who actually uses new Ruin with Pop goes the Weasel. So as soon as it breaks I have something else to help with gen speeds.

I don't use it and I'm not running into it very often. I've seen it work for a trapper who had a goat totem spawn in the middle of 3 gens, but he was also using honing stone and bloody coil with a black ward. Also, a Billy pairing it with Surveillance and TotH and they spawned decently close to each other. Most likely copied from Youtube.

I've tried the ruin + surveillance combo, it's actually good for hit and run tactics with Wraith and Ghostface. It's also good on Spirit and Freddy if you also add discordance to the build.

I even tried Ruin + surveillance + discordance on Clown and Legion and managed to get a 4K, but of course I had to sweat and try had more than before with them. I'm planning on trying this ruin + surveillance + discordance build on other M1 killers to see how it goes, I suppose it will give some information like it's supposed to, but I assume games will be more difficult and annoying than they were before. At this point I'm wondering if I should just stick to Freddy, Wraith, Ghostface, Jumpscare Myers and Spirit and never touch another killer again until the devs balance their game properly. It's silly that the nerfed ruin + surveillance is a buff for killers who were already strong and a nerf to killers who were already weak.

Destroyed at max 1 minute coz stupid spawn places. As I told before, late game hex is nonsense.... but our survivor sided devs cannot understand it.

I mean, the Perk would be garbage even if it wasn’t a Hex totem unless you’re playing Billy or Oni, so I personally see no reason to use it unless you’re one of those two Killers.

  • FleshTorpedo

Its a ######### perk unless you are running surveillance on a high mobility killer and it stays up for at least a few hooks. At red ranks, good luck having it stay before first gen is completed.

    still not using it.

for the same reasons as before, plus the fact that its a lot weaker now, so its even less worth imo

  • SteelDragon

you shouldn't need to ue 2-3 perks together in a combo to make 1 useful, especially when one perk in the combo is a hex

    I agree.

But I already started running surveillance with Wraith and Ghostface before the update to track down survivors working on gens and sneak up on them. I see the new ruin as a buff to the build that I was already using.

Injuring three or four of them is very similar to having three stacks of Devour Hope without having to hook anyone, if survivors don't waste time healing or looking for the totem they become extremely easy targets. So, I think that at least in this scenario the new ruin works in your favor; they either become extremely easy targets or they have to waste time healing or looking for the totem. I honestly think it's a small buff to the playstyle and build that I was using.

As for for Freddy and Spirit; I already ran surveillance and discordance with them ocassionally and I think you have a similar scenario; if the survivors don't waste time healing or looking for the totem they become easier to track down which allows you to pressure the gens more effectively.

However, even if I managed to get a 4k with Clown and Legion running the same build, I still have my doubts it will be a strong build for low mobility killers. I need to play some more games.

Yes constant awareness of all gens being worked on and constant free regression is garbage.

I very rarely see people using the new ruin

Killers are mostly doing fine because like 90% of red rank survivors are garbage.

That's my experience as a survivor for now, the issues will never be apparent until ranks actually mean something.

I've had two games with it where it's lasted into the late game, but that was because the team didn't care. The Cowshed is simply too large for my Plague to cover adequately. The three other games I used it in, it was gone within two minutes, so pointless. My testing of it is done, going back to a better build.

Great. I've actually found it has some good value if the totem lasts a decent amount of time.

It works great, you know it gets destroyed within first 2 mins, the game usually lasts 4-5 mins, very good late game.

Probably not more than if your devour hope lasted the same amount of time.

As Survivor....Ruin has been hilarious and jus power thru it even stronger than old Ruin.

As Killet, as long as I get overly altruistic Surcicors, a good Totem spot and a way to keep people of Gens...it can work decently. But against a known/seasoned group, a bad totem spot or people that can just power through it...it ends up being bad

It kind of is when the simple fact that you have to inevitably spend time ignoring gens to chase and hit people forces you to, well, ignore gens to chase and hit people.
