Devs, please respond
I just watched your Q&A and I honestly don't know what to say. You keep talking about balance and fairness, but it sounds more like balance and fairness for just SURVIVORS.
You didn't say anything about adjusting weaker killers or changing the game objective for survivors, when the question of that came up, you said nothing was planned even though killer mains have been basically yelling at you since the PTB and update. It feels like you listen more to survivors than killers, only changing things they want.
You say perks like Dying Light and thanatophobia might be changed in the future because killers will run them too much, but did you stop to think WHY they want to run them? Because survivors have it easy, they just fix gens and get out while killers have to find them and chase them one at a time with almost nothing stopping the others from fixing the remaining gens. I play both sides and even I think survivor is too easy now.
I love this game and I want to keep giving it the attention it deserves, you guys do a great job. But the way your doing things feels like a mistake, it feels like you're more on one side than the other. I don't want to see this game like this. Please, can you try to do things more for killer?

They said they are thinking about things which make Survivors interact more with Totems. Also they want to adjust Toolboxes. Or that it might be possible that Maps become smaller.
I mean, its easy to hear only the things you want to hear...

That's it what they said.
They said its too early to tell what impact the ruin change has had and are keeping an eye on it.
They said they want to work on totems for a sort of second objective.
They talked about perks and didn't say they want to change them but how they synergise with each other as sometimes it has too big an impact from what is designed. This was part of the ruin change as they didn't like pgtw for instance working with it.
They also said they have been discussing DS due to the aspect of players not tunnelling falling foul of it.
They are looking at toolboxes and wanting to make maps overall smaller.
Remember this was a q&a primarily about the ptb and patch changes they can't speak about every single thing.

Yeah, but even I can think of a way to make matches longer and give survivors a different objective.
Imagine all seven gens, two are completely normal and are repaired as easily. But the rest each have three pieces missing. Where are they? Scattered around the map for survivors to pick up and place on any of the broken gens as long as the piece they have is a piece that's missing from their selected gen. It would take about the same time to heal to place the piece back on the gen, maybe less time. So that would mean 15 pieces would be around the map.

Yes, but you are not a Dev and you will have most likely not that much knowledge of the Game and the Statistics like a Dev.
3 -
Yeah but the problem is that 90% information is about survivors while killers nothing. Eventually this game will be camping simulator 2020

"Ruin must stay a hex perk because when combined with perks like Surveillance it synergises too well, would be too strong and thus not fair".
Erm-

Maybe

You think locker build is unfair? Because survivors are playing without an exhaustion perk or BT? Or is it because they waste time cleansing totems when you don't have a hex?
1 -
Thats a pretty weak build.
And honestly, Ruin and PGTW is kinda overkill, at least with old Ruin. Imagine you have a hard(er) time with Skill Checks and then when you have some form of progress, 25% are removed from it. I can understand the frustration, for me, PGTW is more annoying as well. But at least the Killer has to do something for it.
With new Ruin you play with 3 Perks when using PGTW. Either you cannot use PGTW or you can use PGTW and have no Ruin anymore.
Regarding the Hex-Status, they were talking about that the effect would need to be weaker for a non-Hex.

ruin and surveillance can work together constantly, meanwhile those perks all have cooldowns and requirements, and ds can only be used once.

I dont think its unfair, if thats the build a survivor chooses then so be it. My comment was merely to point out that there are other perks that synergise with hugely greater rewards than the new Ruin would with any build.
I feel both sides should be able to pick a strong well synergised loadout. (I realise there are others for both sides) just my personal opinion
1 -
Survivors don't really have synergized builds as the meta. They just run a collection of strong perks they prefer. Synergy builds as survivor are fun but not as strong as ruin + pop
0 -
You need three-four perks, while Ruin and Surveillance is two and the rest is up to you.
Ultimate Dwight build though. 😎

Ruin and pop dont synergise. You cant use pop until ruin gets cleansed
2 -
Oh I mean old ruin

The build itself might be weak be I see the point your making and I kind of agree.
A better version of Perk combinations could be: Spine Chill, Resilience and Iron Will (forth perk could be anything). This has some really good synergies like way too fast vaults and/or action speed, but negates one of its drawbacks with Iron Will
2 -
No I totally get that. My point was one side can use whatever they like (synergy or not) whereas the other side have a perk that actively works against others in the name of balance and have to adjust loadout accordingly.
0 -
Yea they did work really well together. But thats the point i tried to make, that synergy has been taken away in the name of balance
1 -
Yes balance should take higher priority.

I understand the point you are making. My only intention was to question why one side has a plethora of strong/synergised builds but the other side have a perk redesigned to actively work against good perks the killer may want to choose

Again, that proves that the devs are disconnected from this game.

Haven't watched the Q&A yet, but from what I'm seeing here on the forums is that they want to improve the balance by reworking maps instead of adding a second objective. And I personally think that's the way to go. Buffing weaker killers and reworking maps will of course take work, but it would probably still be the easier and more effective way of improving this game's balance.
Adding a second objective would require so many other balance changes as well. For example, the potential of both tunneling and camping would become too good, so that would need to be nerfed as well. Then, even with a second objective, maps and killers would still need to be balanced because of the balance gap between the individual maps as well as the indiviual killers.

Just in my personal opinion, I feel killers have been a bit hard done by. I appreciate having a proper adult converstion on this topic with you btw. There are too many people oit there ready to just hurl insults!!
1 -
Thank you, I appreciate you as well. Hopefully we can all be satisfied eventually, I'm not one to pick at things and once my concerns are addressed there will be little unsatisfactory about this game. Good day.

They may have said the word "Survivor" more, and talked more about things that survivors have, but it's more about nerfing survivors - which in turn is making the game better for Killers.
It's very clear that this recent patch, and update came knowing the blow it was gonna have on Killers, but they made it even more clear that they planned to remedy it as soon as possible afterwards.
It does look bad that they didn't just hold off on all these recent buffs/nerfs and release them at the same time, but in the end we get the same result. I am not about to throw my hat down on the belief that Dev's are strictly survivor sided yet.

You can have a lot of Synergy without Slowdown. Like BBQ and PGTW have a good Synergy (especially on Freddy). Or Spirit Fury/Enduring, which is basically the Number 1-Synergy everyone can think of.
Or Perks that synergize with the Power of the Killer (e.g. Whispers and new Docs Static Blast).
Killers have way more than massive Slowdown to be played good. The biggest Slowdown is always forcing Survivors into altruistic Actions.
1 -
Not really as they want to make it so they aren't overly powerful when they synergise together.
Old ruin, pgtw, dying light, thanatobia was mentioned in the stream as an example of that.
So to stop this idea you either nerf each perk or you make them less strong together and better alone. That's what they discussed.
They don't want to remove them all from being able too hence the new ruin can synergise well with surveillance which they like.

This game will eventually die if they don’t solve this ######### about balance and buff some killers.
0 -
It also synergize with new players and their cash, which BE really likes.
0 -
But that will be less so for new players.
The slow down build was made up of 3 DLC perks afterall.
