How to counter new doctor
I’m having real trouble countering him and I know I know I can just loop him. But I’m not even good at looping in the first place so I feel like there’s not much I can do against him. Though any advice would be much appreciated.

Calm Spirit.

Calm Mind has always been great against him.

Sorry I should have clarified, I meant more of when I’m in a chase with him

When he starts charging up a shock on a pallet you’re going for, turn around and run the other way.
The shock is a skinny cone, so move like you’re trying to dodge a falling tree.

Throw pallets earlier than you normally would. Try to fake things, he slows down to 110% when he shocks, I think.

I like Windows of Opportunity, that helps sometimes. I just try to find pallets and loop it. If you are looping a window or pallet watch when he's about to use his ability and try to move last sec, the other way.

like people said you need to throw down the pallet early or dodge his shock attack. however as a good doc that has been going against people doing this one way or another i will hit you after you throw down that pallet and I have gotten pretty good at canceling my shock as people try to dodge it. In all honesty your best bet is to just always try to gain distance in the chase by leaving a loop or area you suspect that the doc is trying to shock you at, but only do it if he does not have line of sight on you and if you have another vault or pallet to go to. This is your best bet at lasting longer in the chase since the doc will always be looking for the next area/ opportunity to shock you and get a hit. since the window of the shocks affect of stopping interactions is only 2 seconds he will most likely assume he hit you and go and take the shortest path to you which will be around the pallet or straight to you if you didn't drop it.
IMO with the stance removal he is now a solid A tier killer since he can consistently stop survivors from vaulting and throwing down pallets. Your going to have a hard time against a good doc and prepare to have a lot of your pallet and vault attempts be canceled by his shocks.

Play against him the same way you'd play against Clown and Freddy. The thing in common these 3 killers have is punishing people for being too greedy with pallets so throw pallets a little earlier than you normally would, and also don't stay at the pallet waiting to vault when he uses shock therapy. If you see him start to use shock therapy just start running around the loop or running to the next one.
Another thing to note is even if you run calm spirit Doctor can still deny vaults and pallet drops, it only stops the actual audio of the survivor screaming, the effects are still the same.

In addition to what has already been shared I would say "to defeat the enemy you need to become the enemy". Playing Doctor will help you recognize his weaknesses and how to use it against other Doctors.
Also trying to bait players into using their Shock Therapy at windows/pallets (to slow them down), then skip it and run to the next window/pallet. However good Doctors will recognize this really quickly so they might fake the charge.

Hide in lockers when he is chasing someone near you / if he approaches you near a generator. The shocks don't affect survivors in lockers. I played against one recently who must have had whispers as he fired about 20 charges trying to find someone 😋

Who said you can loop the new Doctor? He has one of the best anti-looping abilities right now. Understanding how long his main ability takes to recharge and lockers are your friend.
if you’re encountering him frequently then throw on Calm for a bit. Problem solved.
but seriously, I have no idea why anyone would say to just loop him. That’s how you get downed.
