The new 'Set Trap' animation for the Trapper. What are your thoughts???

I don't like it, but I don't think it's that big a deal. At least he can set taps faster now and, as much as I hate the animation for it, I'd rather put up with it rather then put up with the old trap set time.

Using his feet was a lot more cooler. This one seems like they rushed it.

I miss stacking Slower Setting addons to watch him struggle to pry open his bear traps over 3-4 seconds using his weenie arms.

It looks bad. At first I thought I had to get used to it. Now I am used to it, and I still don't like it.

It's ugly. Fast and effective. But ugly AF.

I keep thinking it's a placeholder but then remember it's not the PTB anymore. Looks a bit unfinished mid animation. Overall the older animation was better. When the Trapper set his traps by stepping on one end and using his arm on another that gave you an idea of how strong the trap was and made you understand the Trapper needs to use his body weight to set these things. You could easily argue that now it makes him looked ripped with his arms but it just doesn't have the same feel to it.
For the most part the first person animations don't look bad but the third person animations from the view of the survivors looks pretty bad. Looks like a bunch of frames are missing halfway through the animation when you watch Evan set his traps.

You know at this point I’ll take an animation where he throws it on the floor (or even places it) and the trap sets itself up! I know people may say oh that’s not realistic but I mean it’s DBD like you think a killer is going to hook you before he kills you?!1

I think it would be cool if he just placed the trap down already armed.ShrimpTwiggs said:I don't like it, but I don't think it's that big a deal. At least he can set taps faster now and, as much as I hate the animation for it, I'd rather put up with it rather then put up with the old trap set time.

The first person animation is awful. Something about the trap itself looks.. off, I can't pin down what exactly it is but it just looks a little awkward. Haven't got the chance to take a good look at any third person changes though.

Maybe because the camera is not moving? In the previous animation, the camera was moving, it looked more dynamic. Now it just looks down, stays frozen in place until the trap is set up and then it looks up.Strider said:The first person animation is awful.
