BHVR considering hiding issues with the game further?
BHVR will have plenty of stats but even more stats now with dedicated servers.
I promised not to play killer but last night played Billy as a Daily and was amazed by the two matches as to who I was matched with as a rank 10 killer!
I had to ask the survivors and found the first match was a SWF (on comms) the other one wasn't, the results and ranking differences I found to be interesting.
We already don't know who is SWF or on comms but SWF could be shown like ranks by grouping the players, however now I hear BHVR are considering hiding ranks of other players!
Because I play this game and want it to be balanced and fair transparency is needed from BHVR, however it will be likely I will have no idea if I have played against or with great, good or new players.
Transparency is important to players and currently we are aware that the decline in killers are causing further wait times for survivors because it is becoming less and less fun for them and to be truely honest I have never had as much fun as survivor than what I am having now... excluding wait times.
BHVR rather than addressing the reducion in killers are now planning "Batch matchmaking", this method can be tweaked but will merely reduce fairness to who you play against and most importantly will remove insta lobbies for killers to appear fairer to the community.
Due to lack of killers they currently get an insta lobby but with batch matchmaking Killers will then enjoy waiting a period of time to see which survivors appear in the pool/survivor waiting times to be matched against. The killers will be forced to wait but as usual will still be faster than survivors queue times, this is due to the decline in killer numbers!!!
BHVR please address the problem and address that dam huge white elephant super perk SWF, you don't have to kill the golden goose just either reward the killers who face them or penalise the SWF players to balance the game and help make if fun for everyone, don't hide the challenges for either side.
*I write this essay due to caring about the game, please understand I do not want this game to continue to die an early death and wish to have fun playing both sides rather than just survivor*

"Because I play this game and want it to be balanced and fair transparency is needed from BHVR, however it will be likely I will have no idea if I have played against or with great, good or new players."
Isn't this something you will determine during the course of the game? There are good rank 1s and there are terrible rank 1s. Time played determines rank in the end, not skill. A rank 10 can have more hours in the game than a rank 1 if they haven't played in a few months. The only way to know if they are new, experienced etc...is to click on their name and check their hours. What we have been doing all along is just assuming a rank 15 was a newbie.
As for SWF, nothing will likely be done to tell a killer they were/are against a SWF as it would lead to dodging and longer queue times for everyone. I don't know why everyone is convinced killers are leaving the game en masse. Killer queues used to take a long time in higher ranks for some people before the matchmaking changes and nobody was afraid survivors were leaving the game.

Rank 1 using self care? There’s nothing but potatoes in red ranks , I’m rank 10 killer the highest I’ve ever been was rank 2 but I’ve taken a break from killer while I’ve been trying to learn nurse and getting paired with red ranks, whenever I bring o it Freddy I clean the house against survivors , i play a lot of Kyf now because of q times and it’s less stressful most of the time

This is just my opinion. All speculation. I have zero evidence to back this up. It's just what I think is going on.
BHVR stumbled onto a gold mine when they made DBD. They did not expect it to be a successful as it is.
They improve it by adding more characters. This involves more perks.
So many people have put plenty of hours into the game that they know more than the devs. (Look at some of the patches that were reverted within a week. Makes me question who thought that was a good idea? "Flash lights are not OP" says Kote. /gets his ass handed to him by a bunch of Koreans with flashlights. /flashlights get nerfed the next day)
The more perks they add the more complex the game becomes to balance. (Really, when they make a new survivor I dont think they even consider the ramifications of mixing their new perks with current ones. By itself a perk my by fine. Old MoM for example. When combined with DS, Adren and BT it becomes broken)
The devs realized they don't know how balance their game so they start working on death garden.
Death garden is not a success so they put their attention back to dbd
They realize people are tired of waiting for the game to be fixed so they leave.
BHVR has given up on balancing the game and instead they are focusing on new killers/survivors/maps every few months. Particually licensed characters because they draw a crowd. They went from balancing a game to having a steady influx of new players to keep the flame burning.
BHVR is going to ride this out for as long as they can. Until they come up with a new gold mine or the game eventually dies.

There are many things to see if a player is good, time played is useful but to be put further in the dark away not showing ranks isn't good.
SWF should be balanced and killers rewarded for playing them or survivor groups penalised, then and only then will killers want to play SWF when balanced, adding fun to survivors and punishing the killers fun should have been one thing BHVR identified straight away, I just wonder why they haven't fixed this, fairness and balancing?
