Old ruin needs to come back
I'm a survivor main and i think that the new ruin is pretty ass. I'm a red ranked survivor and the gens go bye bye in literally less than 2-3 minutes. It's unfun for both survivor and killer because the games go by so fast so we can't really do anything lol. I get why the devs nerfed it because it had a positive and negative impact on matches and it made it easier for newer players but like if we learned to combat ruin i'm pretty sure they could too. Since the ruin nerf survivor queues have been longer than before the ruin nerf and its probably because killers don't want to load into a match and then get gen rushed 2 seconds later. Please bring old Hex: Ruin: back.

No. It was an awful perk that did nothing at red rank and may have harmed the player base by scaring off new players.
Fix gen times, map sizes or nerf DS instead to compensate.

i can agree with that except for the ds nerf, yeah its annoying for killers but it counters tunneling. or maybe nerf it by raising the cooldown or making it a one time use. idk

I'm the opposite I'll probably stop playing killer if old ruin comes back, I'm having a lot of fun playing with the Surveillance and new Ruin combo. I never used ruin until it's "nerf".
EDIT:
If all the survivors were working on one gen they weren't being efficient with their time. Most effective thing to do as survivor is to work on separate generators, as it makes it harder for the killer to provide generator pressure.

Ds is already a one time use perk what do you mean? A killer can already leave you on the ground for 60 seconds and chase after or do something else what else does ds need to further make it useless to use in matches?

I wasn't dependant on old Ruin, but I believe it should of never went. New Ruin should of been a whole new perk.

if not back, because as it seems it was too hard for someone to deal with, it needs a rethink of the perk or the dynamics tied to fen rushing problem. Seems like new kids can't bother to deal with an hex that in most cases needed 2 minutes to be found and cleansed :)
Games last too little now.
I have actually stopped to see the new ruin after couple days, means that the perk is totally a wrong choice.

The ruin nerf was absolutely not needed. At higher ranks I switched it out for intervention or pop because good survivors aren't phased by it. Devs! If there is already a solution then stop lowering the bar. You helped the newbies but they aren't learning to help themselves. Plus you made the great survivors even harder to deal with.

Gens go fast af the devs will see that and hopefully do something what I’ve noticed is survivor gameplay is very relaxing (most of the time) and killer is stressful af

Idk but I feel like you cant see the real impact of old ruin gone because of the ranking system, matchmaking, tome challenges. Dont want to call the apocalypse but I think it would be even worse in high ranks with all the metioned things fixed.

If you're a main surv as you claim. Why are you complaining that gens get done in 2 mins and you need ruin to do something else? If you want to clean totems, search chest or let the killer chase you no one is stoping you. Right? But you refuse to do another thing more than generators. Even with old Ruin you will be doing generators and not much else. Ocasionally a chase or two but that shows that you in red ranks want to repair and go away, is as simple as that.

I saw the best killers run it consistently on their streams. It is inaccurate to say it did nothing. They get by without it, but they cannot play nice anymore. Slugging in particular has seen a significant rise.

People played this game for 3 years with old Ruin and had plenty of fun. The game grew significantly over the past 3 years. With killers constantly getting the shaft and leaving, the long survivor queue times are "unfun."

It’s really refreshing to see a survivor main actually understand how new ruin has screwed over killers and made the game unfun for them. I’ve seen so many people quit the game over the past few months because killers are getting over nerfed and the gen speeds are way too quick. Clearly it’s a survivor bias game which makes no sense considering the killer is supposed to be the power role. How do they nerf ruin, the meta that lets gens he done at a reasonable pace, and don’t nerf survivor perks that are overused such as adrenaline. It seems that the devs are afraid to buff killers... And the main problem with this game is that the devs don’t listen to the community. On the Q&A livestream, 80% of the questions had to do with the ruin nerf and killers being too weak. Do they see that and just ignore it?! It boggles my mind because I am a killer main and if the devs really played killer at red ranks, they would see that this is bullshit. So I think if old ruin doesn’t come back, they should defiantly fix gen speeds.

i've been having more fun as a killer after the ruin change (i'm probably in the minority here) i actually stopped using ruin when the changes were announced and started changing up my builds - i found out i never needed it in the first place.
honestly: good survivors would do gens fast regardless of ruin and ruin had a chance of being found immediately thus being useless (isn't that what people were always complaining about)
also you could combo ruin with other slowdown perks making it very painful playing against let's say a decently good killer with : ruin, pop the weasel, thana, dying light etc. i have definitely played against killers with this kind of builds who also were very efficient at chases - resulting in maybe 1 generator getting done at max. i think ruin change was a step in the right direction tbh

Old ruin was lame to go against, annoying af, the problem is they didnt compensate killers for its loss. They need to just add 10 seconds to gens, slightly nerf tool boxes, bnp, prove thyself, and make ds deactivate if you enter a locker or if someone else is hooked. It's not rocket science.

I am happier now in 4 out of 5 matches as a killer. The old ruin was cleansed in 30 to 60 seconds most of the time.

New Ruin is way better. Its how a hex perk should be, powerful but risky. Something thats going to be used more for a specific build.
Old Ruin was everywhere. Everyone had it, everyone knew to expect it.
I’d rather totems be something you see every 10 games or so rather than every single game. It keeps them special.

Then they should be good enough and last ling enough to warrant being used once every ten or so games. Late game hex perks dont work well. Heck half of the time the survivor doesnt even have to look for it, just sees a GIANT GLOWING VIDEO GAME WEAKPOINT and then proceeds to break it. Unlike old ruin that was useful for (at its worst) 30-60 seconds, we now have a perk that does nothing until most of the gens are done, that can be removed within 30-60 seconds

No. I'm glad it's gone, It was frustrating enough to have incompetent teammates(red ranks) not being able to hit skill checks and wasting their whole time searching for it.

Contrary to popular belief, survivor pips in red ranks are actually pretty tough, if the game is over in 2 minutes and you don't have an unhook or a heal or any altruism....welp.....GG no pip, and you might even depip.

I'd be against it. If it were brought back, I'd have to play nice, and I've taken a liking to 4k slugging.
In all honestly, though, as much as I despise how they handled the nerf, on top of how fast my current matches are, I like being able to try out new builds. I rarely get a match longer than eight minutes, unfortunately, but I've come to terms that this is an arcade game. It's about going through the motions, and what comes, comes.

I think the main problem with new ruin isn't the gen rush, but how easy it is to remove it. I would rather see her totems be harder to find and longer to clean (it is on fire), than to return old ruin. This does force killers to c hgv angel their tactics still, you need to patrol gens more, but the difference if a killer does it right can keep a game going long enough to secure a 3k or 4k still, while still rewarding survivors for getting more gens done.
I've noticed with gens completing faster, it's easier for survivors to 3 and 4gen themselves as they just completed too quick to look. Once they've 3gen'd themselves, it's not hard at all to patrol them, watch them drop below 25% before worrying about chasing them again.

I wish they'd fix the totem system honestly. I'd have no problem with new ruin if I had a way to defend the bloody thing as anyone besides trapper and hag. Right now, just like old ruin, it's pretty much might as well be a sound affect since that's all it does for me. Dings loudly like 40 seconds in the game.
Totem cleansing needs to come with a negative. The killer is not meant to take all the risk, the survivors are. That's literally the point of a the idea of a survivor...constantly under threat and risk but winning against said circumstance. There should be an active state for totems and a deactivated state.
Or at the very least totems should have an affect on the match the more lit ones are destroyed. I already got to pressure 5 gens with 4 people running around looping crap. Why would I bring something risky when I'm already at constant risk of survivors getting stuff done. And if I'm not meant to defend it, do I really want to feel MORE powerless to survivor actions than I already am.
The only totem worth it in my opninion is devour hope...an ACTUALLY powerful perk that can turn the tide of a game.

Hex ruin old one just made people learn great skill checks and new one just makes them gen rush. They should of made it directly affect chases somehow since that's when power lies most for killers. As DH does by increasing speed, making people exposed and then letting you mori them. Saving you loads of time.
