Saying noed is a crutch and for trash killers is a horrible and DISRESPECTFUL statement
I can’t believe survivors are crying about noed begging for a nerf when it has some of the most straight forward counters just cleanse you have no one to blame but yourself for getting killed by noed. Saying it’s for baby killers or bad killers is straight up degrading, imagine bashing someone for using a perk in a VIDEO GAME!!!!!!!! I have 1000+ hours 50/50 I have never used noed before the ruin Nerf since the nerf I’ve used noed for all of my killers except Freddy and billy. Noed is not a crutch perk, it’s a fail safe perk that gives you downs, just that little bit of motivation keeps the killer playing in the match and not dcing so next time you survivors get hit with noed, just know ITS YOUR FAULT

I've gotten 4k with 5 Gens up while running NOED (obviously inactive) and have seen things like "Oh, it's ok - They're using NOED - They're bad" and so on.
NOED is fine, and fast on its way to becoming a meta perk in this "speedy meta."

It honestly makes me laugh that people complain about NOED, but feel it's perfectly fine to run DS, BT, DH, Sprint Burst, Lithe, Adrenaline. But yeah, NOED killers are trash!

I mean, empirically I've hardly ever seen good killers run NOED and plenty of bad ones do so.
It can be a crutch if you allow it too. If you're a good player and run it for some extra insurance it isn't, if you're consistenly relying on it to get kills it is.

Also it's kinda dramatic to say it's "straight up degrading" to say bad killers run NOED, it's pretty darn tame compared to pretty much everything I hear people say to tilt each other in this game.

NOED is a crutch perk. It gives you undeserved kills for doing nothing.
That said, so is DS, BT, and Unbreakable.

Perks like DS and NOED pretty much just reward failure though...calling them crutches isn't exactly incorrect. I agree people shouldn't be judged based on the perks they run, all that matters in a fair game is having some consideration for the other side. Unfortunately, very few dbd players care nor are they required to.

I'd rather have noed over old ruin because it was guaranteed you'd get more objective points and by the end I don't really care if my survivor dies or not unless I'm doing an escape quest.
...but you have to have seen it yourself. When a killer runs noed he's usually a poor player. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

Pretty much why I don't use either honestly. I don't want to feel like a perk let me escape or get a kill because I messed up somewhere. But, each to their own. Use whatever helps at the end of the day.

From my days as a survivor:
- Most killers who ran NOED used it as a crutch. They either were horrible players who made lots of mistakes and would secure a kill or two with it.
- Many NOED users were actually your classic trolling campers. They would run RUIN, NOED, BW. Face camp the first kill. What does the killer community say the counter to face camping is? Gen rush - but whoops, here's NOED and BW to secure a 3-4k. Does not matter that the killer depips, he wants to. He's just griefing.
From a Killer Perspective
- When I started playing killer, I used NOED as a crutch. I had a match where a very polite killer main talked to me afterwards. He explained how using NOED as a baseline perk would keep me from breaking bad habits. He was 100% correct. I stopped using NOED as a base perk. I got owned a while, but I learned and improved.
- NOED is a great perk, and there is no need to nerf it. NOED completes a good end-game perk build. Without it, end game builds are not the same.
I say no on a nerf to NOED. I do think it should have a requirement. No less than 5 hooks needed for it to activate. That would keep from rewarding trolls, but rarely cost a regular killer.

Not all perks are crutches. I run stuff like poised and third seal, I feel somehow I could cope without them. Noed is a crutch perk. Survivors having more crutch perks than killers doesn't make noed not a crutch perk.

I'm so insanely tired of this statement, especially when it comes to Borrowed Time and the new hook tech, as survivors can just run up to their teammate on the hook and get a free save completely unscathed in front of the killer's face.

I agree with this. In no way am I trying bash people who use it, but BT encourages risky plays by survivors, and allows you to do something you wouldn't have been able to do before. People say it's to counter tunneling/camping, but good survivors will use that time to do gens.
My thoughts on NOED are it's fine. If you do bones you won't have to worry about it much. While yes, some players do use it as a crutch perk, but if you do bones it's a waste of a perk slot

NOED is part of the new speed meta, now that Hex Ruin is trash. It literally takes 100 seconds to ensure you won't see NOED. Yeah I understand that it doubles the time spent in match.

Yes, all those perks give you second chances at life for failing and asking absolutely nothing of you.
I'm not saying NOED is unbalanced, it's completely fair. What I am saying is that it's unheallthy design in that just like those survivor perks it gives you a second chance for failing and asking nothing skillful of you.

I'm down with that comment and frankly only have issues with the survivor perks. Hook tech, and DS gen interrupts / locker plays. They undermine the intent of the perk. It is not possible to undermine NOED as far as I know.

Well DS+Unbreakable is essentially uncounterable, whereas NOED can be taken out before it even activates.

If you have fun running NOED, who cares what survivors think. They'll get over it or they won't, either way just play what's fun for you. Not all killers play to be super skilled or even care about rank. As long as you're having fun, you're doing it right.
