Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Why did it choose them?

The survivors' lore entries are often vague about why the Entity chose them specifically...what aspect of each survivor caused the Entity to want them specifically? Or does the Entity not care? Discuss.

The Entity feeds on hope. Perhaps there is a particularly high amount of hope within those survivors and therefore they looked especially tasty to the Entity.

"The entity works in mysterious ways" is basically how the narrative wants us to believe. Through the archives you hear the thoughts of someone who was working on trying to find out how the entity works, what it is, and what's its motives are and they have a lot of difficulty figuring it out.

As said above, Hope, but also it seems like each survivor was being pushed toward negative emotions more and more, and the Entity seemed to heighten these feelings of negativity. One example is Jane. Towards the end of her story, she is forced to interview her mother, who abandoned her, but she had feelings of envy and anger throughout the interview, which seemed to be heightened more than she'd felt before. As she drove home, she was feeling worse, and began to blackout. So, perhaps the Entity is able to take people from our world once they've begun to pretty much given up or has fallen into such a low state of negativity. That's my take on it anyway.

Wow that's actually a great explanation for a lot of things in the lore. Thanks!
