Devs, the idea of Scott: The Trial Warmup .. it's unbelievable and scary! [Generator Speeds]
I totally agree that the beginning of the game is where more time is lost in finding a survivor or because of the type of ... killer we are playing in addition to the map sizes that don't help much. Scott's idea seems very interesting, since we include an idea of "End Game Collapse" but at the beginning, giving a special touch with different colors and adding debuff to the gens until a chase begins.
Devs .. since "always" you read our proposals, and the "keep in mind". do you think Scott's idea is good? Better than nothing is. i would to know.. what do u think about this?

I will add some devs /community managers I don't know if they will read or interest them, but I think this is worth seeing and that the design team has it in mind. @Peanits @Almo @Janick @McLean @PatBrutal @not_Queen
Thx.

I agree but that would mean making a change that solely benefits killers and they didn't idenfity any issues for survivors in that....
I know it was repeated a lot but that single dev note be Peanits was SOOO GOD DAMN BIASED I can't get it out of my head.

This change does not harm / nerf anyone. This will make the game more fun for both sides. Well, it will help the killers without mobility and slow enough and you know who they are.

I would love if they did something like this.
4 -
Get over it already.

I like it. A cool addition is the first survivor chased becomes the obsession.
3 -
I guarantee you it will be announced as a giant nerf to survivors and these devs don't look like they plan to do anything of sorts.
Everything we got from them now is POSSIBLE(so low chance) nerf to toolboxes.
2 -
This is such a good idea tbh. its kinda like the opposite of egc, which makes sense since its at the start of the game

As a survivor main I don't think this would be a bad change. The only thing I disagree with is a 50% nerf to gen repair during warmup. I think thats a bit too drastic and if that is the suggestion then why not just bring back old Hex:Ruin. I think something more in the range of 20-30% would be appropriate.
On large maps I see this being the most beneficial, especially for killers with low mobility. Being as honest as I possibly can, low mobility killers on large maps need help. This could be the help they need.
Of course there are people who would be able to game this and if that happens then it could be adjusted. Very experienced killers would benefit greatly from it as well but I think its a fair trade-off considering low mobility killers really could use some help on large maps.
I want to have fun as a survivor main but I also want things to be fair. I think this is a good idea, especially for large maps.

Thanks for posting the vid.... this is really cool idea....

Of course, Scott presented some numbers, but if it happened, the numbers should change.
And knowing that ... the big maps are going to be smaller, we'll see where it all ends.

is good idea :D

I think this idea seems fine? Since this hinges on being able to find someone, Killers with bad early game get to benefit nicely while those who can just immediately hit the ground running from the get-go will get less benefit. So the end result is that it all kinda smooths out across the board.

It's 50% because it has to be an utterly massive slowdown for it to accomplish anything at all.
That way they are better off doing things like searching Chests, Breaking Totems ect.
3 -
This should be added ASAP.
3 -
The idea is so great! Pls implement this devs.

Posted a similar comment on the video yesterday, but the conditions for the warmup to end need to be specified a bit more, as they can be abused. Survivors can just run up to the killer and initiate a chase or sneak up behind a killer and hide.

Talking about what if's I'm not sure that would really help as much.
Sure, trapper will get a small amount of time to set up one or two traps but I don't see it as much of an improvement.
If survivors spawn of seperate gens and you find a first one then all other gens will pop 20seconds later then they would currently.

The killer would see the trial warmup end and know a survivor is there...but yes I do agree something should be done so survivors can't instantly ambush trapping killers(or maybe not because I hate trapping killers as survivor lol).
1 -
This way Trapper could spend a minute setting traps and no more than 1 gen could pop(not factoring in toolboxes).

I also thought about that and liked it. But I'm not sure if hiding MoM and DS or possible killer obsession perks is a good idea. Also Freddy's addon "obsession starting in the dream world" wouldn't work with that. Myers' addons like higher stalk rate would suffer as well, as you don't want to start a chase while stalking, although you still would get benefit of it latest after you got out of Tier 1 probably.

I don't know if a chase is a good way of ending it though. Getting a hit sounds a bit more unfair but think about it, how many times have you started a chase without even seeing the survivor on screen?
This mechanic makes it way too easy for survivors to bypass the initial phase and doesn't really do anything at all to fix the real issue.

And that is a lot. I saw people raging when someone suggested that the game should start with 100 sec gens and the next gens go faster. This is almost a pop applied to the gen, it helps even more when you don't find survivors quickly. Most frustrating thing is when 1-2 gens pop because they waited at the 0% gen while you passed it and then having enough time to finish before you get back. Probably done before you find any other stealthy survivor.
And currently it is like 1 down at the same time the first gen pops and the second pops during the second chase. These 20 seconds can help you to get to the gen before it pops

If they aren't willing to do this, they should at least make Ruin always active. It would slow the game down and make it reasonable again.
1 -
Old Hex Ruin was about frustration with failing skill checks ;) just slow speed does not contain frustration, otherwise they need to remove Thana and Dying Light from the game.
And regarding map size, I think it is also a healthy change, as the slowdown is needed on larger maps and on smaller maps you will find survivors more quickly, either by chance or because you return to gens more quickly after you already checked them.
And the bigger benefit for better killers? I think it is not that great. Good killers know about spawns and hiding spots and basically find survivors earlier, so the slowdown will last less than on average killers, means less benefit. The only thing is, that the 1-gen-kickoff for the survivor team is less likely which they might need to escape, just if the good killer really has problems finding the first survivor.
1 -
I would be very surprised if devs really implement this
4 -
I only have one situation in mind where this can be "cheesed", as Scott put it.
What if you're an AFK wraith (trying to Depip) at the start?
Survivors are gonna have a hard time finding that wraith just to get rid of the warm up
1 -
One simple fix I've seen for this exploit is to put a natural time limit on it, something between 80-120 seconds.
Yes, the game will still take a bit longer than what it would now, but at least it isn't double (assuming the 50% slowdown).
6 -
Plus you wouldn't be hurrying until you realise someone's coming to kill you (more lore there)
I like this. I could live with this not changing my tactics whatsoever too.
Also while we're here why not mix a slightly weaker Old Ruin into New Ruin

@Peanits ?

Amazing idea.
0 -
Yes that would be necessary, as with a cloaked wraith or killers looking at a wall, you cannot start chases
1 -
So do we ever have a chance to play this or they just ignore this idea forever?
"But what about wraith standing corner?"
Give some time limits (60, 80 or 120 seconds), problem solves

This is just corrupt intervention's cool older brother
