Noed turns even already lit totems?
Hi I just played a match where I personally destroyed 1 lit totem which was haunted grounds. Then I destroyed 3 dull totems. However the last totem should have been lit already as the second haunted grounds but when the last gen completed noed still went off. Is this normal and suppose to work that way?

Cleansing one HG turns the other dull

As far as I am aware that's how it works, because i've had matches the same as this. Haunted grounds = 2 totems lit at the start. There were times when I did 3 dull totems, and still ran into NOED in the end game.

Haunted grounds only lights 2 totems. I destroyed one of them and I destroyed 3 dull totems which is 4 total. The last totem should have been lit as the second haunted ground. So how does that work? Does that become noed or does it become noed plus haunted ground?

To answer your scenario, breaking one of the lit Haunted Grounds totems makes the second lit totem change to dull. HGs activates one time.
I can confirm that NOED does not turn lit totems into NOED. We had a match where we broke three dulls and left two lit totems up (we assumed Haunted Grounds and were correct). In post game we saw that they had NOED and it did not activate.

No. When you cleanse 1 Haunted Grounds totem, the 2nd one becomes dull

That makes sense, was it always this way? I remembered it not doing that for some reason

Haunted Grounds isn't actually a hex perk. It disguises 2 dull totems to look like hex perks. They are both dull despite being lit up. If you cleanse one, the other just losses it's light. It is still a dull totem. So 1 totem of haunted and 3 dulls is 4 totems. That other half of HG can turn into NOED.

This is suddenly making a lot more sense now, and HG is a lot weaker than I already thought. Damn that's a useless perk.

This is the answer.
If you didn't cleanse HG then Noed would never have activated after cleansing the remaining 3 dulls.

HG has been the same since release. Running HG and Noed together is actually a decent combo.

Haunted ground can build huge momentum if it gets popped and you manage 2-3 downs with it. Farrrr from useless

I could have sworn both haunted grounds stayed lit the whole game and that you could get everyone exposed twice in a single match. Was this changed at some point?

It's not useless. Not the perk I like running most, but definitely not useless. Always so satisfying being in a chase with someone as it gets cleansed and downing them on first hit.
Had a game once where I heard someone playing with my totem, so I went to look and there they were.. I just stood there watching them finish cleansing before downing them. I mean, it would have been rude to interrupt them, right?
But yeah as for question asked.. as others said, 2 lit totems, once one gets cleansed, the other becomes dull.
"The remaining trapped Hex Totem immediately becomes a Dull Totem."
So two players could be cleansing both Haunted Ground totem, but whoever finishes first gets the Hex cleansing points, the other one gets the dull totem cleansing points.
Or it can go the other way around.. had it happen to me before where I was cleansing a dull totem as someone finished the last generator.. it lit up for a few seconds before I finished breaking it.

Thank you all for clearing that up. I don’t know why I thought they both stayed lit. The guy that got hit with the noed made a teammate dc by hook farming and getting them tunneled anyways

Nope. It was always one charge. Maybe you're thinking of Rancor? But that only activates after several conditions are met.
Or maybe it was PTB? No idea about that one as I'm PS4.
Mandela Effect maybe? I'm starting to doubt myself. o_o

Honest mistake, I used to think both stayed lit after one got destroyed, and I'm sure I've been exposed more than once in a match with Haunted Ground, but it was when I was starting, so maybe it was just Haunted Ground and Noed and I just got confused.

Potentially Devour Hope and HG. Lot of people who use DH will also use HG to help protect it and camoflauge.

Yeah might have been that. I remember when I first started playing, I only played survivor with others, so they kept mentionning "oh killer has this and that perk" and I had no idea what most of them did.. I learned by playing more, and by playing killer and actually using those perks.
