Killer Post Traumatic Stress Do you Have it?

I mostly play Killer and survivor for BP challenges. I have about 1000hrs on the game.

I played good and bad games. I play Clean but Dirty with low tier killers.

I notice a lot of Killer complaints on forums and yes. I'm guilty of Complaining and sometimes being a Entitled Killer main but what can I say it's the role that fits me an Love so there's going to be some passion. When Killers things get Nurfed or I was planning after a long days work to play some Killer Dbd . Then get Sh.1T on so yes I have right to feel some type of way.

Let get back to my Main Topic .

I believe there are times I get Killer PTSD.

Every Killer has those games were they get wrecked or screwed over by a group of toxic Survivors that go into the game with the intent to bully the Killer. Sometimes those type of games can effect a person negatively mentally.

I had this happen to me. I was so stressed because one game. Now I'm doing crappy my others games do to being frustrated.

Here are some symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) -----

People may experience:

Behavioral: agitation, irritability, hostility, hypervigilance, self-destructive behavior, or social isolation

Psychological: flashback, fear, severe anxiety, or mistrust

Mood: loss of interest or pleasure in activities, guilt, or hopelessness.

Do experience some of these symptoms when playing Killer on DBD. If so share a time DBD broke you.

Please take this serious. I know DBD is just game but your still interacting with Human beings that have feelings on other side of your screen.

If you do have or get Killer PTSD please take a break from playing go out side get some fresh air get your mind straight.

I have high blood pressure and recently got so heated over this game. I had to have a trip to the emergency room.

Just take a chill pill my Killer Friends.

It's just a game. Sure in the middle of an annoying match ill get annoyed...hell sometimes ill rage XD but after the match is over? Ill move on to the next game. If I have a bunch of bad matches? Ill go play Undertale or Skyrim 😂

Nice. I'm still playing Skyrim too.

Every time I get crapped on by one of these teams, I load up old leatherface or a mori and make one or two unlucky players suffer. Always makes me feel better.

You ever had a killer you just don't like playing? Like for me it's Hag or new Freddy and if I get a ritual for them I'm just like "meh, I really don't feel like playing this killer right now."

Yeah, right now I feel like that but for the game in general.

That's unsettling not gonna lie. I do realize some people really enjoy the killer role despite being unable to take the stress that naturally comes with facing a group of 4 other human beings. However if things go that far you should seriously think whether that little bit of fun is worth it or not.

I have a few questions for you: Would you still experience any stress if survivors were actually bots/if DBD had an offline mode?

Do you think you would get bored of DBD if survivors were actually bots/if DBD had an offline mode?

I not crying about wanting bots to be survivors.

I like challenges. Please don't think Dbd caused my high blood pressure. It just got that irritating playing. And No im not one of those people that shout at tv.

I just have very stressful job. And would like to Enjoy a game Dbd it's the only game like it.

Without dealing with Dushbag People that play Survivor to make another person miserable using ######### tactics... Toxic SWF groups.

No, because if if I got feelings even remotely close to that even once I would've quit the game without hesitation.

If someone genuinely feels "bullied", "oppressed" or like they get PTSD from playing a video game they're making a mistake continuing to play it. That's just not worth it whatsoever, ever, and most people that actually felt that would quit no matter how much time or money they invested in the game.

Of course I'm well aware that in the vast majority of cases people just use words like that as increasingly meaningless buzzwords that at this point just means "something made me angry/upset"

    What the hell?

People actually get stuff like this from a virtual video game?

Wow.Some of yall bout to be real mad at me, but you need to get your stuff together.

It's an online video game. You meet all sorts of people there.

Games are made for fun.So just play the game and have fun.If you don't have fun while playing this game, then just stop playing this game.

And i'm sorry if this came out kind of hostile, but it really isn't.I'm just giving advice not to care so much about if you won or lost or got a 4k or no kills at all.

    *stares in the distance*

*little demons pestering me, robbing me of my senses. Always seem to be in reach but are ungraspable. Please demons just take your victory. But they won't ... won't stop. Endless torment... click click click click*

Was gonna post something like this as well. I mean, come on... it is nothing but a game. Even if you take it seriously, which is fine, even suggesting one would get PTSD from an online game where you always have the opportunity to just click everything away is just too much.

On that note, who even reads post game chat as Killer?

Yea bad videogames can do the reverse of most games and cause or trigger ptsd. I assume it's even more so if you had narcissists as parents growing up. I only say this because of the effects of the abuse causing fear of failure or being teased or bullied by failure. Considering that most baby boomers are narcissists that would be most of the audience get triggered by the wonky Scooby Doo garbage that goes on in game. It's all very interesting 🤔

That's crazy you mention that. Don't want to get to much into my personal life. I had a very abusive father. Let's just say I had 2 sleep in a small dog cage till for 4 years of my Life naked in a basement. That can't sum it. That was past and no more. So yes as adult now I have some inner demons I'm fighting. I do have bad anxiety. Sometimes the Toxicity of the Survivors get to me.

Many say just play another less stressful game.

Guess what I love being Monster in power

I can't help that when survivors are nasty that I get to a bad mental state at times. Knowing its a game.

Trust me I don't get upset over thing it's just when people take things to far.

Yo if a game affects you this much, stop playing. I don't care how much you enjoy the game or whatever you say because at the end of the day, your health and sanity is waaay more important than this.

Maybe it's good he has this game as an outlet to prevent some road rage or shoulder check incident in public to incite a violent reaction.

They quiver at the thought of them possibly losing a game. God forbid you lose against superior opponents sometimes. Neither side in this game are able to take a loss.

PTSD is quite a serious mental health condition and it usually spawns around after experiencing really traumatic things (self explanatory) for example: Experiencing a war, a house robbery, house arson, hostage situation etc all those kinds of things.

Realistically, a virtual game probably can't give you PTSD. If it did then I would be very surprised considering I play a lot of horror games myself and I haven't experienced any of the symptoms for PTSD. Maybe it's just different for other people, but if you have or do get diagnosed with it by a doctor then I hope you're okay. Take a break from gaming or dead by daylight if you need to.

You need to think about plan B when you play killer. If survivors are experienced, tunnel one guy to death and call it a day. Make use of Rancor, Insidious, Nurses Call and Bloodhound to track injured survivors. Dont blatantly stay near hook, move away and bait unhooks.

You truly might be on to something. Especially if you're letting this of all things drive you to claiming PTSD

You don't need to play this game bro. Seems like you forgotten what a game is. If it is affecting your real life, you need to stop.

well i think that if the killer was a bot the survs would stop playing the game you know?, their fun is on bullying most of all, and for killer is the challenge on winning chases (bots always would have their flaws on that), so i think the problem is basically the survivor mindset that getting a DC killer is fun or making him angry

  • PatchNoir
    PatchNoir Member Posts: 600

yeah i have DBD trauma its like a abusive relationship when playing killer, you play cause you remember the good times and you will have short times of fun but you will still got your ass beat up at least 4 times a day.

When i get stressed i just tunnel and camp 2 people and next games go full dirty to relieve all the stress. i know that i am traumatized when i take survs looking to a wall or i look around when they crawl to a pallet, also any pointing and t-bag already triggers me (survivors say its nothing but they do anyway so if it is nothing why you do?) then i tunnel the heck out of them (lantern click included).

While I can see the reasoning behind your assumptions, I definitely wouldn't call this state PTSD. Maybe you're trying to name in a more smooth form like "killers' PTSD" but it doesn't really make sense. While I truely feel some of the things you mentioned above it's surely more than just regular irritation but I can hardly call it PTSD in any way.

When I play killer I do it in my padded room. The screen and console are behind a bullet proof glass window and I have 10 new in box controllers I usually go through 3 of em.

Do agree with You maybe Killer Trauma would be better way of putting it. I know PTSD is a serious matter for some.

Specially for those who survived in the military.

    Thank you for Service.

Decided ya know, I wanna meme a bit and out came Burger King Myers. Played against a toxic 3 man. I wasn’t expecting to win of course but there was so much teabagging, flashlight clicking (they didn’t actually use their flashlights for saves however) that I attempted to try hard before realising... Burger. King. Myers. It all went south from there
