Map item
Genuine question here... Why is the Map an item? or better yet, why is the map usable past rank 15? rank 1s have no issues finding gens/totems/anything else they want to look for. Why is the map a thing?

You dont have to look for totems or memorize gen locations with maps. Its a nice casual item. It will scan everything around you in 8-20m and save it while you run around. You can break all totems without looking for them, if you keep a map and use it before the lasts generators are done. I use it, because Im bored of other items.
You only need to add Red Twine add-on to make it scan totems.
Stamp add-ons increase the scan zone.

I love the glass bead add on, whether it's just for memeing or genuinely helping other survivors find me. It's a nice addon that almost no one uses anymore. The maps themselves have extreme value of maps like Lery's and The Underground Laboratory. I would like to see them introduce new items and offerings though, since the current ones don't do a whole lot. I would love if they brought back the moonlight offerings.
