The new changes make me nervous
Hey guys, it's vigo here... And I'm not here to spread doom and gloom because I haven't had a chance to play with the new tools yet and I'm not sure that toolboxes will even be that overpowered.
What I do know is that when you're a killer being denied a hook is immensely powerful. That adds up to a minute of extra chasing, and it should not be a thing that can be done easily. The reason why saboing was fine before is because it did take effort from the entire team to make it happen. And those moments felt amazing, it's like the A-Team trying to make a plan all come together. If you make it into something that can just be done casually by one person by bringing in a fairly common add-on that can be used repeatedly it's going to break the game.
Now I haven't tried it yet, I don't know how long it will take but simply put it doesn't matter if they make it so that hooks come back quicker, they already came back quickly. It doesn't matterif they make them not as reliable for a genrushing tool, gen's already get done quickly. The problem is, hook sabbo rescues need to be a rare occurrence, because let's face it perks like decisive strike are already a nightmare. Now not needing a perk and being able to deny hooks easily seems to be a problem.
The only way I could see this being okay, is if The toolboxes got depleted after a single rescue, or killers had a way of punishing this by maybe applying an exposed status to those who try to mess with the hooks. Risk versus reward and all that. Again I haven't had a chance to play the new setup.I can't say for sure, but what I can say is that as someone who's played over 1,500 hours I'm uneasy about this change. See you all in PTB!

i can see why you'd be concerned and i agree that this might make sabo saves a little too common but in the end it depends on how long it takes by default to sabo a hook. if it takes less than 5 seconds then i would definitely see this change as a problem. If it is at or above 5 seconds than it might be fair and could even encourage perks that never get used mainly mad grit, iron grasp, and agitation.
what i find interesting is that if they stop saboing a hook then it will reset their progress and since hitting a survivor forces them to stop working an any interaction than it could end up as a free hit. like i said it all depends on how long it takes to perform the action.

I suppose, I'm waiting for PTB to make my final judgment. All I know is that even losing one hook could mean the end of a game for a killer. And that needs to require skill coordination or a specific build to be able to pull off. That's why perks like DS only come like once in a blue moon. And now being able to give that to everybody? That's scary and I'm scared. But like I said I reserve judgment.

The current sabo speed they are pitching is 2.5

well that is Total BS, there better be some heavy restrictions on how many times a tool box can sabo a hook.

It does sound like uts fewer times (fewer toolbox charges) but sabotuer also can do it with (from current wording) no speed penalty. Im not too worried cause that version im sure wont make ut to live
