Simple solution to SWF "issue"
Disclaimer: I play solo survivor mostly. Maybe once or twice a year I will play SWF.
It seems like a lot of the challenges with balancing this game is that the devs are trying to balance around SWF and solo. Killers are saying that SWF is rough to play against.
The problem is NOT that the SWF are playing with friends. The problem is that they are adding voice communication. (If I am understanding the complaints correctly.)
So, what if they change the game so that if it detects microphone use from ANY application, the match ends or the player is disqualified or something like that. Thus, SWF would be able to play together but not on mic.
That would make them MOSTLY like solo because they'd only be able to text info to each other, which is risky and takes more time. That wouldn't be that rough.
I know SWF mains won't like it, but I'm sick of being stuck between balance for SWF and balance for solo.

The harder it becomes to use Voice Chat and play with your friends, the less casual players will do so. You will still have the Tryhards, and I doubt that everyone wants only to play vs Tryhard-SWFs on Comms, with the Casual-SWFs driven away.
First of all, how would it be possible in the first place to detect if a Microphone is used? Would I be kicked while playing Solo, for using a Headset (which has a Microphone included)?
What would prevent me from just using Discord on my phone? This is what people would do, those who do not care that much for the game will stop playing, because they cannot talk to their friends anymore while playing.

Just give solo all the detection perks baseline and you are nearly on par with swf, just missing the do X now part.

This issue with this is that I use Discord a lot to voice chat with friends while playing games - these friends don’t actually play dbd with me, they just talk with me while I play. There would be no way to differentiate between people like me and SWF - I’d be getting disqualified for something that isn’t even against the rules. Also the whole detecting microphone use from “ANY” application wouldn’t work out - you’d be disqualified for using voice command systems like Siri and Cortana (is she even still around? Haven’t heard from her lately). You wouldn’t be able to stream the game either as most streamers use apps like OBS which record your well... microphone.
Nice try though! I admire you suggesting ways to help the game but SWF is a huge difficulty without buffing the survivors to SWF level or downright removing it from the game (they’d lose a lot of player base for something like that though so fat chance of that happening.)

That is an extremely unrealistic suggestion.
Imagine haveing a webcam and having to actively disable the mic in device manager just so DBD does not kick you out...
Heck i dont even think a game could detect that or be allowed to reach that far into your PC to do so.
Heck what if you are just talking to your mom while playing some DBD over skype or something, nope sorry you get kicked out.
Also im pretty sure a lot of people have a ermm phone these days, with discord on it... could just use that to talk.
LASTLY, the playerbase would just plummit.
This cannot be implemented, at all.

Because that's incredibly malicious and I wouldn't be surprised if it meant BHVR would see some sort of legal pressure from the EU/America for scanning their customers computers and disabling their game based on who is using a microphone, this sort of thinking is absolutely bonkers.
I often talk with my friends while playing DBD, guess I can't do that now because you don't want people talking?
Edit: RIP To all streamers, I guess you can't play this game <3
