OH MY GOSH I THINK I HAVE IT
The reason for deathslingers power.
BHVR uses new killers to fix certain problems, pallets were an issue so nurse, stealth was an issue so doctor, game speed so pig and her RBTs. And now we have tbagging at exit gates and spamming, so we have a killer with a hooking ability 👍😁🤣 this is just some random spouting nonsense but... It does make a little bit of sense if you think about it.

Well yeah, they tend to release perks and powers to counter what the community is mad about. Not always to the best results...but they try.
Side note, love your username. Best MTG deck I ever had/have is a squirrel deck with a few power knights.

His power doesn't punish that though if the survivor is healthy

15 meters, if something is in your way then you are only hurting the survivor
And if they know you have iri coin they will get out when they hear the TR
NoEd is usually cleansed before survivors get out to remove the threat, or they are too scared to look for it and abandon everyone

I heard they pulled names out of 3 pots:
Pot 1: Zombie, Werewolf, Undead, Human, Aztec, Ghost
Pot 2: Pirate, Cowboy, Teacher, Clown, Samurai, Egyptian Mummy, Inquisitor
Pot 3: Katana, Harpoon, Cat o' 9 Tails, Mace, Whip, Knife, Rolling Pin
This time it came out as Zombie Cowboy with Harpoon.

Perks and new killers don't fix the core mechanics though. A new killer that can deal with loops and such doesn't help all the other killers. It just means you'll most likely see the new killer and no one else. Perks can always be countered or reworked. Ruin being the prime example.

I don't think OP is necessarily saying it's a good idea, just that it's something they've seen.

Exactly, it doesnt fix the problem but it tends to happen
