New Ruin Opinions
Heyo! Just wanted to see what people were thinking of new ruin vs old ruin. Toss your rank with your comment cuz rank TOTALLY matters? Lol
Red ranks: As survivor I find new ruin more pressuring than old ruin. I could hit the skillchecks for old ruin and I'd just power through it. But if the killer sees me. I can't power through that regression during the chase.
I guess this could be countered by making sure I always work a gen with someone else. That way whoever isn't being chased can hop back up there to keep it from regressing. Ideas to try when I get off work. But still... As a solo player, unless someone hops on my gen during my chase, I'm losing progress even faster than I would with old ruin and a gen kick before my chase started.
What do you guys think?
PS: I enjoy the perk. Survivors could use a little more pressure on them nowadays IMO

Not worth it in my opinion unless you use it on very specific killers with very specific builds.

I'm rank 1 on both sides with 4000 hours (since launch) but don't worry. In my survivor games. From a survivor view point its really a small nuisance. It means I have to think about whether or not I should go for a hooked survivor and let my generator regress a bunch. But unfortunately like most things in this game any form of SWF ruins that pressure. Because my friend can just tell me someone else is coming for them or we can discuss who has the lowest % of generator progress. I don't mean to be sweaty when I play SWF but information does come out at some point, its hard to remember how much of an advantage that is. So no matter what it seems you get some use out of it. Unless its found at the spawn phase.
From a killer point of you its not as good. Its just a wasted perk slot. My issue with it is that its a 'late game HEX: Perk'. Which prevents it from being good similar to Huntress Lullaby. Now both of those perks can be super amazing if the totem is hidden but its too much of a gamble. Some of these totem spots are right next to generators or out in the open. Even the new map has a spot that looks really good when you look at how hidden it is, but then you turn around and there is a 4 man gen right next to it.
IMO the perk change was made at the wrong time but we really didn't need ruin as bad as we thought we did. Its a shame such a great perk had to become another perk I ignore in my inventory though.
