The Obsession | This is an Idea towards making it more....Obsessive |
Hehehehe terrible name I know, but someone made a thread about either reworking Obsession or removing, and this gave me an idea
If you do not wanna read this at the start, look for "PERK CHANGE START" and see what I did!
Obsess by definition means "preoccupy or fill the mind of (someone) continually, intrusively, and to a troubling extent."
An obsession is "the state of being obsessed with someone or something."
So shouldn't the Obsession need to be the killer's main target?
The Obsession perks Michael have involve ignoring the obsession or getting away from them as much as possible
Play With Your Food- You are literally ignoring your obsession
Save The Best For Last- This involves not harming the obsession or you are punished
Dying Light- If the obsession dies, this perk deactivates and you get no tokens for hooking the obsession
Over the years they did evolve these with the perks "Remember Me" and "Rancor"
Rancor: You are killing the obsession, removing the obsession
Remember me: You are harming the obsession, torturing them pretty much to harm those who are not them
Nemesis: Makes a new obsession, helps you kill the obsession
The survivor obsession perks involve the obsession staying alive, no I mean LITERALLY ALL OF THEM but OoO
DS: You stab the killer for trying to kill you, making you the obsession
Sole Survivor: This one confuses me, but its for the obsession and staying alive
Mettle Of Man: You take protection hits, you tank a hit and become the obsession
I may have missed some but here is some ideas to change Michael's perks into helping take down the obsession, while changing the survivor obsession perks to prevent the obsession's demise
PERK CHANGE START
Play With Your Food- Instead of Ignoring the Obsession completely, change it to hitting the obsession and leaving, not hitting the obsession, not hitting the obsession and losing the chase, getting hit by a pallet, or hitting a survivor who is not the obsession will decrease the tokens, missing in a chase against a survivor who is not the obsession or is the obsession will decrease a token as well. This rewards the killer for ACTUALLY PLAYING WITH THE OBSESSION, instead of straight up ignoring them
Save The Best For Last: I like the idea of this perk, makes harming the obsession last a good idea while rewarding you for ignoring the obsession and hurting everyone else, but why do we ignore the obsession, in Halloween doesn't Michael wanna kill Laurie? It does what it currently does, but now if you have max tokens while the obsession has been hooked twice, the obsession can now be killed by your hand IF they are the last one standing. This actually will reward the killer for harming everyone, including the obsession.
Dying Light: This one is hard to change, but it should revolve around killing the obsession again, BUT THIS WILL NOT REWARD THE KILLER FOR TUNNELING/CAMPING. When everyone has been hooked atleast once, the perk will activate when the obsession is killed. Original Dying Light, it rewarded Killing off the Obsession quickly, or using tombstone or an ivory Mori to silence the obsession almost instantly to get its rewards off. When the Obsession has not been hooked yet, they are given the healing speed increase. This will give off the BIG speed reduction, while forcing the killer to not just take out the obsession instantly.
Laurie's DS will be staying the same for this in a way, HOWEVER DS will have an entirely new purpose for the Obsession.
perk change start
Sole survivor: Remove the aura thing this perk doesn't even bloody work. When you are the last survivor, if you enter the killers Terror Radius, the killers Aura is revealed to you for 3/6/9 seconds at the start of the TR. When you exit the TR it goes on a 40 second cooldown. This helps the survivor stay alive or make a choice when entering the Killer's TR, assisting in the survivors survival.
Object Of Obsession: This perk in its current state is so highly rewarding in SWF that it hurts as killer to be facing OoO. This perk will no longer reveal the killers aura....yet. Object Of Obsession will activate when going down, when going down and being hooked the killers aura is revealed to everyone for 4/5/6 seconds, BUT after being unhooked, you will now have your aura revealed to the killer for 8/7/6 seconds when unhooking survivors.
Decisive strike: Keep it the same, but now being the obsession at the start with this perk equipped now gives you something. If you are the Obsession for the entire game until you are the last survivor, your wiggle speed is increased by 10%. You can now be grabbed out of hatch.
I need some opinions on these as this is the first time I did something like this, and I feel like some of these might be OP or underwhelming
Keep it civil please!
And when I say keep it civil, I mean please keep it civil please!
If this is in the wrong sub-forum my mistake, as I am used to posting in General or Off-topic

I especially like the Object of Obsession change. It's an actual High Risk/High Reward perk that can either really help your teammates or be really detrimental to them. Which would take some pause on when you should save the Obsession from the hook. And having both sides stay at 6 seconds at Tier 3 is also good, meaning neither side have an inherent advantage over the other when this perk is used to it's fullest.
