Rank is broken
Rank is completely broken and doesn't for any new players/noobs.
Just played a game where the killer was rank 9 and a different color then me. I am rank 15 and brown. What is the point of a rank system in this game? It doesn't work at all.
I should be playing with people around my skill level. And with a low level character too boot. The killer had all level 3 perks. I cant understand how this is suppose to be fair and fun. Its not fair, and an unbalance game is not fun.
Being put up against high rank killers with high level perks while i run a low level character with no perks is EXTREMELY fun. Every game should pick up on this and balance their game around it being as unbalance as possible and just throwing every level of players into a lobby. IT JUST WORKS!

Usually it's exactly the opposite. Low rank killer against high rank survivors. But they are working on a new matchmaking system, so hopefully that works out for the better.
However, the rank difference you described was what their target rank difference used to be. Before the matchmaking was as busted as it is now they aimed for a maximum of a 6 rank difference. 6 ranks isn't that big of a difference as it's very easy to get to green or even purple ranks

All I can say to you is to keep practicing. Watching streamers/YouTubers is a good way to learn some tactics. If I were you, I'd start with a "How to loop" video that explains different loops and how to use them
