Why do some of my threads disappear?

Just a stupid question unrelated to the game. I'll make a reply on a thread then after I click "Post" I realize I miss spelled something. I go to edit it and when I click post it gives me a message saying "it will appear once it's been approved".......? Why does it do that?

I believe it's just the system checking for spam due to how quickly you edited the comment. I could be wrong though :P
