YOUR Biggest Issue With DBD Right Now
For a couple of months now, I've seen a lot of different viewpoints on the biggest issue in Dead By Daylight right now.
What I want to know is, in YOUR opinion, the biggest issue in the game, and how might you solve it?
I imagine it'd be interesting to see how many times different problems come up, but more so interesting your solutions to the problems. You could also riff off other people's solutions to improve upon them or whatnot.
I'll start: My biggest issue is map size and unfair map RNG. Obviously, big maps are just an issue because DBD doesn't work with big maps, but some maps can become completely unfair to either side depending on RNG. THe biggest culprit are Autohaven maps, in my opinion. Especially Gas Heaven, that map can be 5 tractor track tiles, or 5 double truck loops. This is just one example. tons of other maps have completely wild RNG.
All you'd have to do to fix this is but more time and effort into the tile weight system. IDK what it is right now, but it clearly doesn't work properly. That, and just make the big maps smaller.

It takes literal years for anything to get properly balanced in this game.
Example: Survivor meta.

Hands down it's the maps. Map size is an issue. Most killers are going to struggle on large maps. Then if you play a killer that does well on large maps like billy, you take the chance of getting lerys or other maps that basically screw him.

Not enough Michael and GhostFace killers.
Most Michael and GhostFace killers don't Mori me even though it's in my name.
Head-on is toxic asf but I'm enjoying it too much to stop and I feel bad so I apologize after game.
Claudette still doesn't have a cute sundress.
Doctor's kit is too overloaded in comparison to other killers and most of his skill/passives needs to be in the form of an add on.

Mains.
Survivors who act like they’re gods gift and think everything is sunny and happy, when it’s not.
Killers who act like it’s the end of the world every single game when gens go fast. Just move on, it’s normal DBD.
Too much complaining from both sides when it would be better if we all just got along and worked together to make DBD a better game.

the tolerance of toxicity. I think since most survivors at high ranks are potatoes anyways the balance doesnt even matter that much, but the toxicity should be more looked at. If someone tells you to ######### in post game chat "just close the chat" isnt the answer.
These people should be perma banned, if not BHVR shows that they are down with ######### like this.
Post game chat toxicity happens way to often to believe reporting them would matter.

Lack of synergy from killer perks (relating to gens) and the sheer underwhelming effectiveness of them. If survivors can have overwhelming effects on gens with toolboxes and add-ons, and the ability to work together, and Prove Thyself, and have it all considered be balanced, then why not the same with killers? Why can't killer perks (relating to gens) have overwhelming effects? Why not have Tremors stack with Ruin? What about letting killers still kick gens even with Ruin active? Why do so many killer perks in general have restrictions like cooldowns?

When I play survivor it’s to easy lol I want a intense game when I play survivor.. gens go by to fast and all the second chance perks survivors get

Mostly the disconnection from the customers (us) at this point.

Too much looping and too little focus on being stealthy. This game doesnt need stealthy because you can just loop anyway. you are also not rewarded for a stealthy play as a survivor. I want less Loop potential, whether it by changing the map layout or reducing the amount of pallets, i dont care. Pallets are my biggest grief though.
Pallet down --> mind game a bit, --> run off to next loop --> rinse and repeat.

The community. I can cope with many of the issues of the game but not with everyone being so idiotic towards each other in-game, post game chat and in social media.

A few maps could get some bigger or minor changes (depending on the map).
My major problem is that killers often feel stripped down to their abilities. As would they just be designed after some statistics, while nobody seems to think on the fun of the player who is playing them (right who is playing them and not play against them).

My biggest issue with dbd is the devs. With the changes, patch notes and stuff that's been happening for the past 2 years, I can't help but feel they never played killer at red rank. Some nerfs I can understand. Don't like it but I understand why they did it. However there's patches where I'm asking myself "Who the hell thought that was a good idea?"

I haven't played for that long, but the community and the atmosphere seems so negative and all. Like _everything_ is toxic. The devs are "awful and biased and horrible" and what not. Many players seem so sweaty and competitive. I would like to know how old people on average play this game, because many of them feel so immature. But I love the game tho.

I have 2 major issues with the game.
1) Dedicated servers - my experience with everything from wait times to slight lags that make great skill checks much harder has been worse since the introduction of dedicated servers. I don't expect anything to be done about this because I honestly don't think BHVR cares at all about it
2) Survivors - I say that as a survivor main. It seems there are a lot of survivors that aren't even trying to win. If the majority of survivor in matches with me are trying to win they lack the ability to think critically enough to understand how counterproductive their actions are to winning. Some of the ones I see talked about on here all the time like unsafe hook removals that lead to nothing more than hook farming, or trying to heal a slugged teammate while the killer is standing right there. There are also the less talked about ones like survivors that don't realize running the killer to team mates that are working on a generator is bad strategy for everyone including their own self.

Matchmaking. As a solo queue Rank 1 survivor, i have on average 2 teammates per match below rank 10, who are absolute miles behind me in terms of mechanical skill, perk quality, game knowledge and timing execution and i pay deerly for it every single time.
Meanwhile, when i try to rank up as killer, i always queue into lobbies within literally 10 seconds, only to find out after the match why, i'm being used as grace fodder for long queue Rank 1 teams. In theory i wouldn't mind, but having nothing but THE best of the best top 1% survivors as my opponents is incredibly frustrating because it forces me into a playstyle i dislike, picking off easy targets and slugging, or simply facing 4 man escapes as a punishment for not doing so. I mean, the last game i played doesn't need much commentating, i got 7 hooks total but specifically chose not to tunnel anyone down and STILL got hit with a DS by a meg which got unhooked 58 seconds earlier (watched the video back because i couldn't BELIEVE she still had it active)
So basically i'm hard stuck around rank 10 as killer because i cannot stop facing purely Rank 3-1 SWF squads and my Rank 1 survivor experience is miserable because i'm constantly matched with vastly weaker players that i cannot stop from dying pretty quickly if the killers do the one sensible thing, figure out the weak link and kill off the repair speed as fast as possible (because with Ruin gone, there now isn't much of a difference in repair threat between a rank 1 and a rank 10)
Solution? I don't know, honestly i do not know. I don't know if we NEED a seperate SWF queue, but with BHVR basically pointing in the direction of "we'll ditch match balance for short queue times and decent ping" in their recent dev blogs, i don't have much hope. And with the game REFUSING to offer me fair matches, i don't think i'll keep playing much longer, or buy the new DLC.

The inability for both sides to be strong since killer is always the one hit with the ruin nerf and constant killer nerfs.(how long did it take for instaheals to finally get fixed and legion and nurse are still dead).Give ya about a month maybe until the constant billy threads get billy nerfed yet hes the best example of a balanced killer that can pressure the gens in this survivor biased game.

The overall limited selection of strong killers for advanced players, and the fact that so many killers would be fine with some minor tweaks and polish but its unknown who is being prioritized

Matches with Mori, key or ultra rares combined with camping and tunnelling making success near impossible. It's a 50/50 chance so half my time in dbd pure toxic garbage.

Matchmaking is the biggest problem by far. Red ranks are polluted with survivors that shouldn't be there, so it's a completely random if you get god survivors, or total potatoes. On top of that, with so many red ranks to so few red rank killers, you burn through the killers and it starts going down the list.
My solution is simple. No more depips for survivors, but all 4 survivors are fighting for 2 communal pips. The two survivors that perform the best move up in ranking, while the other two stay put. By the time you reach high purples, everyone is going to be good, and only the best of the best will make it into red ranks. This would keep every survivor level stocked, and would ensure that the potatoes never make it into the red ranks, or even purple ranks.
Rank reset would knock you back down two color levels, but you wouldn't be relying on teammates to pip, you just have to outperform them. If you don't pip, you're in the level that you're supposed to be at.

Match speed. Nothing else matters because, as killer, I don't even get the chance to really play the game before the match is over. What's the point of even booting up if I get three or four chases, hook people maybe twice, and then the gens are done?

Survivor objective times / the amount of time wasters survivors have in comparison to their objective times.
so yeah this comes eigther down to objective times or to map design (though tbh i doubt map design is gonna completely fix this problem, when you can literally be dominating and they still get the gens done in basically no time)
solution?
secondary objectives.
just make it so they need to collect, lets say 4 parts before being able to work on a gen. this would also somewhat "fix" maps, as it would take a lot longer to search and find the needed parts on big maps, while small maps would grant you access to them a lot sooner, due to them being closer together.
but i think no one can deny the current gen times are way too fast.

The biggest problem is causing other problems -> Each addition of content brings new bugs, new problems which take up months of fixing. Take nurse rework, entire killer is riddled with bugs and ######### but no sign of it being fixed. When you do a thing like that why not at least finish it and deliver it bug free?
The only way to stop this is probably to put a halt on everything regarding new content and focus on game health, core issues. It is naive to assume that you are going to solve issues that date back since "forever" while you add in new stuff that creates new problems, more people are aware of.
Take for example map sizes, simply shrinking maps just by the space they have would not solve anything due to structures being cluttered together so some stuff has to be deleted and so on.
I wish that the killer would feel more powerful, it is almost like playin dark souls for the first time and comparing it to a vet but you know like the killers lose like their entire purpose of being a threat.

The ######### sound i could stand on top of a survivor cant hear them walk breathe grunt directions can totally throw you off as the dont match tge direction fix this sound is important

This is my biggest issue. People like this on the survivor side who complain endlessly about their life being so hard, when they have the most easy and chill role in the game. Combine that with the fact that THESE are the people BHVR listens to. Imagine being a survivor and thinking it's even remotely impossible.

Bhvr has shut me down repeatedly here on the forum so have survivor and killer mains who are quick to throw anyone who breathes a opinion out of their camp and into absurdity.
Your biggest issue is blowing things out of proportion and defending broken game elements so you can continue to be as toxic in the game as you come off to be in your offhanded reply to my voice.

The community. We "adapt" but these adaptations don't actually help the game in the long run.
We get a change and it also seems like 75% of the forums are just calling it bad or demanding nerfs to the strongest thing after everything settles.
Hex: Ruin rework? Increase in tunnelling, camping and slugging. Survivors respond by running Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike and Unbreakable.
Nurse add-on rework? Spirit is next.
How about we play the game properly and as intended, then maybe, just MAYBE, we'll get the changes we need.

I'm going to pluralize it: my biggest current issue(s) with DBD -
- The Toxicity of the Community. Overly negative, never happy, constantly pessimistic vocal minority. Both in-game & out. Just read this forum once or search the #DeadByDaylight tag on Twitter to see what I mean, let alone trying to read any end game chat.
- Match making, the ranking system & the entire abomination that is the emblem system. This is part of the reason I feel that so many people try to take this game way too seriously. You're not going pro at DBD. You being red rank means nothing. Depipping in a game where if feels like you're playing by yourself is also ridiculous. It's just broken all around.
All the complaints about Killers being bottom tier & maps being unfair & second-chance perks being too strong, etc. I think all of that nonsense goes away if people don't have a rank or have to worry about ranking up/down or getting weird matchmaking. It's an asymmetrical 4v1 horror game & people are trying to fairly balance it. That's never going to happen.

For me personally, I think it's low tier killers that need some kind of buff or rework. Clown and Leatherface are the biggest ones, but several others could use a few smaller changes as well.
Also, similarly, super trash perks. There are so many perks that are either outclassed by another perk or are just so much garbage that you never want to use them. I want them to buff/fix the garbage perks on both sides so we can see more variety with the perks people use, and so I have more ways to switch it up and employ new strategies without looking and feeling like a memelord. Even if they buff the junk perks to the high heavens I don't care, whatever it takes to switch up the meta and bring in more variety
Edit: I want to specifically point out Monstrous Shrine. Super garbage perk that existed since the game came out and hasn't been touched in 4 years. It was junk when the game came out and it's still junk now, arguably even more junk by comparison since now we have way more better options than this. Like, just about any other killer perk is better than this one. Not sure why they haven't fixed it yet when they've been fixing other trash perks

The queue times for survivor are atrocious. It takes 20 mins for me to get in a match alone and killers somewhat better but time can be a factor whether you gonna find a match in 5 mins or 15 mins (im on ps4 oce for those wondering)

My biggest issue:
SURVIVOR QUEUE TIMES. I can’t wait until the devs bring into effect the new MMR that promises to prioritize quick lobbies/good ping over “fairness”. It takes far too long to get a SWF game going nowadays.
