Now DC = suicide on hook
The DC penalties system has changed nothing. I played 4 game in a row and the first survivor that went down suicided on hook.
So what is changed? Nothing. Killer get less points. Survivors get a difficult game.
Pretty good job so far DEVS.

OK so 1 what would you have the devs do?
and 2. you still get a lot more points then if they were to DC the moment you down them.....

It's not like the devs can do anything about it. Maybe it's time to remove hook wiggling and mashing to struggle?
Nobody likes mashing a button, just to stop mashing for 0.001 seconds and dying by accident anyways.

This, people will find a way to give up no matter what the devs do. They started with DC penalty let’s see if anything else becomes such a problem that it gets addressed.
Also to the OP, how would you stop people from dying first hook, remove the escape button that would screw a lot of perks and just the random Kobe factor some people enjoy.

Actually, it helps.
Killers still get BBQ stacks.
Survivors get a few more moments to do something while they're being carried and hooked.
Survivors even have a chance at an unhook.
It is far better than "I got downed. DC".

The devs shouldn't punish people for dying on hook. People complained about DC'ing because it was abusing the leave game mechanic in a way it most likely wasn't intended to be used. Dying on hook works as intended. You have the ability to attempt to "kobe" if you fail, you have the choice to struggle or not to struggle.
Just because you dislike it doesn't mean its not a legit strat. So many killers use the fact that the game lets you tunnel, camp and slug as a justification for doing so, the game also lets you die on hook.
Now to be fair, I don't know your preferred role or your playstyle, so this next part might not be directly related to you, but is more of a generalized standpoint.
It is unfair to say one side can use tactics to play a game that the otherside finds unfun while not abusing game mechanics, and then complain when the other side uses game mechanics to avoid unfun playstyles.

I mean, you dont have to spam it that fast. 2 or maybe 3 pushes a second really isnt that bad.

Disable the need to press space bar for struggle. That way the player on hook is forced to stay a bit more. Other survivors have more time in what will be a difficult game.

This is going to skew kill rates for Killers even more. Hopefully BHVR doesn't release any Kill Rate statistics after the crap show the last one caused, because it'll be even worse.

Making struggle automatic would be a nice change, keeps people from quitting for just 1 minute and saves my keyboard a bit

Except, if it was automatic, they would have a "press X to give up", for the sake of time wasting as last survivor, giving up for hatch, etc.
Which would still have people giving up on hook.
It would relieve some button pushing, but the problem would remain.

Survivors will always have a way of not playing the game. They can literally just do that, even. They can just go watch a movie or something if the game isn't going their way.

Wellllll we all get the logic, if you actually dont want to play then dont start looking for matches.
But you just cant put rules on every single thing in this game because if you do you remove the human element and you might as well have bots play it.

Well with killer you can actually do that... unless they want to suffer the penalty.
THe devs once spoke of a 'concede" option for killers but shockingly that never came to pass....
Like if the killers could just open the gates at any time and the EGC would start, there ya go, but killers cant have that so they must suffer through it.

They do want to play though, that’s why they opened the game and pressed ready. What you mean is they don’t want to play “if they get found first,” or “against Spirit,” or “on Lerys map,” or “if they killer had thanatphobia,” and the list goes on and on...
People want to play against a bad pkayer, using a weak killer, on a survivor sided map or not at all.
And the above can all be switched to killer as well, they don’t want to play “on haddonfield,” or “if survivors do a gen in less than two minutes,” etc
Both sides need to learn there are a lot of random factors in this game if you want a fixed game there are plenty out there

So? Thought kills is what killers wanted. If they suicide on first hook the other survivors should be the ones who are mad, not the killer. Killer still has three other survivors to play with - survivors just lost a 3rd of their potential altruism.
I never like threads like this - usually the killer always leaves some detail out that would go toward explaining a bit more why different survivors would just kill themselves on first hook four games in a row.

Exactly right - throw a bad party and people will leave. Same thing - a lot of killers throw a bad party, so the survivors leave.

Well , it changed stuff a little bit. Now survivors who are still in game at least get a little bit more time to do stuff because the killer still needs to carry the survivor before they suicide.

Oh yeah plenty of times I have seen them do so. Quite a few do it if they don't like the map or if their Ruin was destroyed (I wonder what they do now that Ruin has been changed - probably not go to parties at all now).

I don't suicide on the first hook but if there are two of us left and I get hooked I'll suicide to give the hatch. You can slug me I guess but I'm still giving the other guy the hatch.

Basically, you're calling for punishment of the use of all game mechanics in ways you don't like. That just doesn't make any rational sense.

Friend, there are a lot of problems in the world that deserve this kind of attention. There are hobbies you can take up. Maybe a walk, get some fresh air.
If someone suicides, life will go on and it will be ok.

Survivor DC:
- Killer gets 250 Brutal points. (iirc)
- If killer has BBQ they cannot gain that token. Loss of 25% bp bonus.
- Lost hook points. 500 for hook 200 for hook stage.
- No Emblems points towards pip.
Survivor dies on 1st hook:
- Killer gets 1100 points. 500 for hook and 600 for three hook stages.
- If killer has BBQ, gain one token eq to 25% bonus points.
- Killer gains Emblem progress towards a pip.
Those "killers" that complain about the new DC system either can't do the math or are survivors wanting to be able to DC when things don't go their way.
No killer should be upset by this change unless they are the type that DC when gates are openned.

Video games already have systems in place to punish people, so saying "it just a game" doesn't accomplish anything.
None of that means excessive early hook suicides shouldn't be punished. :P

DC mostly - but if they don't want to do that, just wait for the last gen to finish and open the gates...done in a couple minutes. They don't want to do gens --- what's the problem? That's still a party in my book. Killer sets the tone for the match, their options may be limited depending on the survivors (not chase, slugging, camping, switch to friendly and farm, go tool in a corner at the very worst). If you feel survivors set the tone every game, you aren't killer material or just easily manipulated.
All part of potentially getting a bigger paycheck at the end and not being in risk of elimination from the match.

There are no benefits to the receiving end of that action. There are many benefits to multiple people with suiciding in certain situations. Let's not play dumb, they're not the same situation at all.

Yeah...I am not all that interested in the killer having any enjoyment...if the killer has fun, well good for him, but I'm not playing for him to have fun...in general if all goes well he won't have any fun facing me at least I hope that is how it works out. Think I had fun when some trash Huntress instadowns me with a hatchett and then Moris me?

Bodyblocking in the way described is a bannable offence. You may get a 5 minute ban for DCing but they will get far more if you report them.

One thing that is often overlooked is that most of the time, depipping is a GOOD thing. Because ranking up in this game usually leads to worse/less fun games the higher you climb. And often, longer queue times as well. Red Rank survivor is awful. So killing yourself or the old disconnect - there was literally no penalty for doing so. Oh no, I deranked & didn't score any points in the game where I ran the killer for the first two minutes & all three of my teammates are ducked behind a tree... whatever will I do?
Go to the next damn game & hope for better randoms & more points, that's what.
Killer you don't want to play against? Map you don't want to play on? Terrible teammates? There's a lot of reasons to dip sesh & hit the random queue RNG button again. I don't want to play on Lery's, Meat Plant or Hawkins. I don't want to play against Huntress or Hillbilly. I don't want teammates that refuse to work on gens. So they add a D/C penalty, I'll find different ways to leave the game. Otherwise you're just in a game you're not enjoying for 10 minutes to get a black pip & very little points. That's 10 minutes that you could have joined a different lobby with different people & be having a better gaming experience already.
Is it selfish? For sure. But it's not like there's a lot of people in this community looking out for others or trying to make best buddies with strangers.

While I don't like people who dc or suicide on the hook I'd like to make one statement. The killer is not obligated to go easy on the rest of the survivors. Your teammate screwed you over. Instead of yelling at the killer or filing false reports, send those to the douche bag that suicided on the hook.
