The last rank reset has shown us something...

Short answer: it shows how much harder it is to rank up as killer

Long answer:

I have been watching quite a lot of tru3, and I noticed that in about 8/10 matches as a survivor, he is facing killers that are purple or green. There was a thread of people saying that there are no red ranked killers that they face. There are NUMEROUS people on here (me included) posting pictures of us facing people 6 or more ranks higher than the killer.

Obviously, as people have stated, there weren't enough killers before hand to handle the amount of teams supposed to play in red ranks. Well, now that has become a much bigger problem.

I agree that there were some killers who aren't good enough to stay in red ranks, but it usually only took 5 games to get back to red ranks, so it wasn't to bad. Now, from the latest rank reset, most of those killers cannot get back into the rank.

Is this inheritely a bad thing: no. The idea now shows that red ranked killers usually earn their right in red ranks.

The problem is that survivors do not have this issue, as even I got to red rank survivor before the last rank reset. I'm not saying I'm terrible, but i feel like i am a purple survivor right now.

They either need to make ranking up easier for killer, or make it harder for survivors. But I guess it doesn't matter, as MMR is gonna be the new thing to mess up.

It's not only about how hard to play as killer, it's also about how much killers play. My assumption on current situation is most of those greens and lower are just people that mostly play a surv, but sometimes play a killer and usually stick at greens and never climb higher. Since there is a lot more people that mosly play survivor (at least just because ratio should be 1:4), MOST of the killer players are greens and lower, and it's explainable since if survivors rotate they don't grow in rank.

So basically, killers should grow in rank 4x times faster or something? I think, that's one of the problems that MMR supposed to solve (if it's done right. Right, BHVR?): survivors play a lot, gain a lot of points from a lot of games, when they play a killer once against survs with a lot of points and win they gain % from loser points - means a lot at a time, so they can grow quickly if ranking points are inflating, or lose little because their points pool is small. That way people get spread between ranks a lot faster when matchmaking is unbalanced.
