Killer mains- What keeps you as a killer main?

I miss Evolve.
That and longer queue times for survivors

Well playing survivor is always the same, but there are different killers and that is what I like. To play Pig one game, then Trapper, Plague, Demo, Spirit etc.

The only thing i hate more if i lose by something i cant stop looking at u keys

I think one of the major reasons a lot of people play killer more than survivor is because killers naturally get more bloodpoints. BBQ is significantly easier to get stacks on than WGLF, and killers are in the match for the whole game while suvivors can get murdered off rather early in some cases. Though even though I prefer playing killer, I somehow managed to currently end up at rank 11 killer and rank 3 survivor right now thanks to a mix of tomes and rank reset.

The sound of a surv DCing when I didn't expect them too. 😂
DBD is the best at what it it's genre by default and the devs have a good grasp on character design and atmosphere when it comes to killer. There's also more skill on this side.
And the ability to play Myers and Freddy is too good to pass up.

I personally still enjoy killer, and don't think this game is in nearly as bad of a state as some people seem to think. I have taken bug breaks from the game recently, but that's also because the game can get a bit stale if you play it too long without any other games in between, and because I've started enjoying Battlefront 2 again.
Killer can become stressful and survivor annoying vs campers though, which is also one of the reasons why I take breaks from the game.

This being the only active asymmetrical game on the Xbox where I can be the Killer 100% of the time.

I don't even have a problem with keys only because how tough it really is to use them. I have only used maybe 4 keys my entire playtime and I was lucky if enough gens got done to make the hatch spawn. Then I was lucky to ever find the hatch and use it. lol I only got to really use my key once and even then only I survived because my teammate wanted to taunt the killer and ran out of time and the hatch closed. lol

Survivor is too brain dead easy and boring to play. You have to intentionally handicap yourself and then grind your way up to the highest ranks to even get a small challenge.

I always seem to choose the toughest path. IRL and the fog.

I've said it about myself several times. I mostly care about having fun. Part of that comes from success but more just because I feel good about accomplishing it. That's why I try to avoid really strong killers that just make the game feel easy, like Nurse (to me at least, because I know I'm gonna rustle some jimmies with that one.) Same goes with killer perks, like pre rework hex: ruin.
The most part of what lets me have fun is just not having to rely on team mates. I don't want to restrict myself to only playing with friends to play my main role, and either way I just feel more often than not your average person on your team is going to let you down, and it's more rare to find somebody who makes more good plays than bad ones. When I play killer, the interaction is in my hands for the most part, and if there's a mess up then it's nobody's fault but mine. At the same time, if something goes wrong, even if it's my fault, I don't have the pressure of letting anybody down.

Because i never relied on ruin so idc if 2 gens pop early game and because 80% of my games are against potatos at red ranks

I got this game to play killer. I liked feeling was scary and in control.
Then I got to red ranks.
I quit a few months ago. I'm glad I got out when I did. It saved me a lot of time, anger, and frustration from playing this broken, buggy, imbalanced mess of a game.

I like the gameplay style, and the challenge of a 1v4. But this game is so unfair and stressful for killer it makes me want to quit.

Thats a lul but recently i do well as killer 2 people alive i patrol hatch and fens and they just sneak around and bam leave the game that is unfun gameplay if they escaped normal good for them but it just feels cheap

It's still really fun despite the hardships.

Survivor gameplay is boring and repetitive and perks change very little. Each killer feels vastly different to play, and I don't have to play with survivors, because people who play survivor are generally awful people.

I wish i could find players to lose to more than one time in a week.

i find survivor frustrating so i stick to killer
0 -
It's a lot more satisfying, though it can also be frustrating as hell. I just love slicing through survivors with Billy's chainsaw. Also, what's not to love about the post game salt?

Well I mean I can understand it feeling unfair but the fact you already killed 2 of them is good. The game is not really meant to get a full clear. I am also assuming they did at least 4 gens before popping through that hatch. I mean it stinks for you but you all got a good amount of points then as well. I mean when I play killer I actually most the time let at least 1 person escape sometimes 2 because I figure I got my points already. =)

yes i agree with u the thing bothering me tho is my opinion on keys is its like a shortcut and i dont like those the sane thing goes for mori unless its devour hope then id say the killer deserved that mori
0 -
Your such a bait. Survivors should be able to have BT, DS, Adrenaline, shall I go on
0 -
The fact that I seem to attract moris when I play survivor. I've clearly pissed off every killer in my area (I am on Xbox).
Im not even that toxic a survivor. I don't tbag or anything. I don't even use items. I just play my way and it works. : P

I agree almost 100%. The only thing is mori's are easier to use. Well Ebony Mori's but yes I agree if the killer uses Devour Hope and the survivors decided not to do totems and the killer stacks it then its all fair. =)

Queue times.
I don't see how survivor mains last on PS4 cause the wait times are atrocious

I like the fact that when I climb to rank 1 each month it's based on what I did, and I alone. I wasn't carried to red ranks, I managed the addons, I played the games, I dealt with the setbacks, and I got through all of it to once again see that skull over my emblem.

^ This. The time and money I've already put into it are what keep me from leaving DbD entirely. If I play for any length of time, I play whichever role has the shorter queue times, which right now is killer. However, these days I rarely play anything more than a single killer and single survivor match per day to get the daily XP bonuses. I had been playing a lot of killer, but I just got tired of it, going up against survivors way higher ranked than me, and it felt like I was doing the game a favor by continuing to play killer. I decided I don't want to help with survivor queue times.
If I do have a spurt of playing killer, I'm mostly just mucking around, not playing seriously. I can't play seriously and not feel miserable. Playing stupid is how I make the game fun. That's how I'm able to play killer.
