Can camping in the endgame not remove emblem points?

What else am I supposed to do? Go defend my nonexistent generators on the other side of the map and let the whole team get out? I'm getting penalized for defending the objective.

If there is no survivors close to the hook then yes. Why shouldn't it? Endgame doesn't change anything related to emblems.

You can try standing further than 16m away. Or you can try chasing others away. You can try hooking somewhere that will not make it easy to unhook and run out instead of going for the closest hook that's gonna make it easy to save.

Also , hooking is your objective, not "guarding". If camping was the objective then you wouldn't lose points for it.

The point is that it is usually hella counterproductive to look for other people because it makes it very easy for someone to unhook the last person and bolt toward the nearest open/99'd gate. May as well secure it, so why be punished for securing it?

Well during the endgame if no one has escaped and you have someone on the hook there is only 1 thing the survivors are planning on doing, save the guy. So why would you risk loosing a kill looking for survivors who are coming to you?

At endgame (unless you have a specific build for it) hooking is no longer your objective but securing kills is.

By that logic survivors should not be trying to save that last guy because their objective is to do gens and escape, so why are survivors camping a hook save at endgame? See how these ridiculous "rulebooks" make no sense and are simply a way from one side to force their opinion (or shift blame) onto the other.

You've got to be kidding me. This is a joke, right?

There's nothing left for the Killer to do at that point. Gates open in 20 seconds and don't regress. The hooked Survivor is the only objective left that's worth something. You know that at least two of the Survivors are going for the save. If they pull it off, then they are going to bolt to the nearest gate while bodyblocking. You're basically saying that Killers should just let Survivors do whatever they want in the endgame. Do you send salty "camper" messages when the Killer's ignoring the rulebook and is actually trying to secure a kill during the last moments of the game?

I've gotten salty messages about camping the hook when the only hook I camped was after the last gen popped. I ask what else there is for me to do in that situation, but they never answer.

Why does it matter if the survivors are close to the hook or not? The Killer can't see the other survivors. The Killer has no way of knowing if the survivors are close to the hook or not. The Killer literally can't do anything but guard the person on hook hoping someone goes for the hook exchange. If they left the hook to patrol the door, the other survivors would have already had enough time to 99 or open the gates while the Killer was hooking a survivor.
