Ghost Face Stalk how to make it worthwhile using it
Hi
So for clarity few things Killer Main Rank 5 to 4 highest is 3, Freddy main (lets not get into that topic yet lol) also huge stealth killer fan.
Now GF (ghost face for short) is a fun stealth killer but i believe that his stalk is bit meh and a huge time waster especially in this day and age where everything seems to be going at blinding speeds (again not getting into that topic) part of it is due to the dedicated server which im assuming devs are working really hard on making sure the issues are being fixed. But that still leads to the issue of the stalk itself.
Now the stalk to simplfy what it does you stare at the survivor for a certain amount of time and for short duration they become exposed. sounds great on paper on pratice not so much cause what i find is its easier and more worthwhile me to sneak to the survivor and get a free hit sure they dont go down instanly but its better that stalking them exposing them and they run off to a loop, pallet, god loop etc and waste so much time where i could potentially lose the expose status and they escape from getting one shot. so its time wasting with little reward for it
Saying that my idea is to give stalking more meaning and make it more rewarding to do:
increase rate survivors become marked on base
slightly decrease durition on them being fully marked
survivors do not hear the noise notfication of them being stalked till its 50-60% done (dont know if survivors can actually get a sound notfication on when they are being stalked but just added it just in case)
increase range of stalk
Stalk:
when survivor is fully marked they gain the exposed status and are not able to hear the heartbeat or red stain for the duration of the mark even if GF is out of night shroud.
any perks that will normally alert survivors to killer (spine chill, premontiton etc) will be constanly on throughout the duration of the mark
GF will gain killer instinct on the mark survivor every 3 seconds while they are marked for the duration
(potential but not sure if it could work- if GF is chasing the marked survivor while in chase with that survivor he gains the bloodlust quicker then normal and reduce stun of pallets if hit by the mark survivor)
so it gives you more benefits to stalk the survivors and will make survivors keep a better eye on their surrondings otherwise they would be in danger of the stalk and makes its more challenging for them to escape the mark duration which in turn should make it a more fun and challenging experience.
What you guys, girls and devs think as said im a killer main so there maybe some bias but i did try to think on what it could be like on the survivor side

I've loved using Ghost Face but I am absolutely awful with Stalk. The GF I just played though was really good and I think I'm going to just copy what he did.
Generally, he would just stalk from farther away (ideally on like...a hill or something high up). I assume there is a range of some kind but he was able to be pretty far away it seemed (relatively) and still hit us with the stalk.
I generally try to get close before I stalk but survivors rarely let me (since you know...I'm close enough to be relatively easy to see) so his tactic of getting high up, getting you hit by exposed, AND THEN chasing you seemed to work really really well. I actually rarely even bother with stalk with my technique because like you said, I can usually get the hit without the stalk (or if I'm really lucky, get the interrupt) but I'm going to try that opponents technique and see how well that works.

aye the hit and run tactic is very popular with GF atm but i do like the stalk but like you said its bit meh to use just thought that with those changes it gives more vaule to stalk the main issue with the other person is the distance he stalks he has to predict your movements when you get exposed which could lead to him losing you and all that stalk wasted but will give it a go and see what its like.

Stalking is pretty much pointless unless there on a gen and you can do the peek stalk without them seeing you, because it builds super fast. By the time they notice, it's too late, and it's a free down. Other than that, it's pointless, unless your on huge maps where you can see pretty far, then try hills. It's amazing what the stalk can see that you can't. What I don't like is how you can't stalk through the Cornfields or parts if the swamp, but they can almost instantly reveal you.

What seemed like the biggest risk for that tactic is the time burned if it fails.
If you get the stalk and the down, you've saved some time (or a LOT of time if the survivor you took down is good at dodging chases) but if you don't get the hit, that's a lot of time you've now kind of thrown away with nothing to show for it.
I'll be curious to see how well it goes when I actually try it out.

think thats more to do with dedicated servers my issue is theres not that much of an reward for stalking as like you said most of the time its pointless. i just thought those changes that i mentioned would give it more of an incentive to actually stalk as it rewards you for getting the stalk off.
let me know how it goes :)

His stalk is perfectly fine as it is (minus the stak bugs atm).
Here, a tactic I never see anyone using is exposing someone you have no intention of approaching right away to get them off of a gen for a while (works even better with Ruin active), and also to make others feel safer because they think they aren't targetted, when you secretly are doing just that. And also 99ing an injured survivor you have every intention of leaving alone for now - so when they heal they are oneshot regardless next time you find them.
Also, stalking through gaps in the walls, like on Autohaven, Macmillan or Coldwind. That makes approaching survivors easier because they probably won't see you stalking them. Then pop around the corner and expose and down them

That went considerably better
Granted, the group I was up against weren't great so I probably could have done this without the stalk (I only dropped one of them with the stalk as usually they were running around injured instead of healing themselves) but I was building my stalk meter up a lot more and there were situations where I could have used it but chose not to (since they were running around injured, no need).
I'll be curious to see if I run into a better group of survivors if it would stay this effective but as of now at least, I see no reason why those tactics wouldn't work on a better team.

I also did this a lot in that game (so the far stalking and then the 99% stalking). I know some of those survivors on the gens saw me but as long as I just stood off and starred at them like the weird pervert when the high school team is swimming at the local public pool, they almost always just left me there and didn't break my stalking. Get it up to 99% then I'd wander after them.
They'd usually break my stalking once I actually went after them but that investment would likely come in handy later down the road if it came down to it.

@tippy2k2 I used to put Agitation on my GF to make sure survivors who were 99'd didn't block the hook to force me to lose all the stalk on them. Then after a while survivor's just stopped playing intelligently vs GF so I stopped using it. There are so many counters to the style of GF you vs, but a lot of people just don't do them. For example, a GF that injures all the time is most likely using Nurse's Calling, so healing in areas where you are always gonna see his approach and can break him out of Shroud is how to counter that. If he keeps coming after you, just loop him well and he would have wasted sooooo much time on you. Vsing a stalking GF, you run far away while keepng LOS broken, then break him out of Shroud from behind objects and walls, where he can't fill that gauge up on you. And if you are stalked a lot, force him to hit you when he cannot avoid it (ie blocking a hook). Most survivors don't do any of these vs GF; just like a lot of GF players don't have proper strategies when they go into a match or when they vs a particular team that play a certain style.
