Devs why don't you take an easy win?
It's understood that Discordance level 1 is better than level 3.
So why haven't you just swap the values? It's not a big change and it could go out with the next update. Yes you would have to check for bugs but it's not like you would have test the balance of the perk.

I would not be surprised if that change would not break 5 other Perks and 2 Killer Abilities, because of their Spaghetti Code.

let people choose what Tier of a perk to use if they unlocked it
simple

This would be more complicated. Discordance is the only Perk in the game where Tier 1 is better than Tier 3. So changing the values is easier than changing something which will not be used.

Not enitrely true. Surveillance is also better at T1. MYC is also better at T1 for certain high-mobility Killers due to being able to proc more often

Because I only unlock Tier 1, Tier 2 is taking a spot for something else. Also, even though it's unlikely, I may run into a situation where I would have to unlock Tier 2 to advance to the next blood web. Then that's not my choice.

Why level 1 is better than level 3?

The Gen is only highlighted in yellow for 8 seconds instead of 12 seconds. This means, you get more notifications, so if only 1 Survivor is working on a Gen afterwards, you will now about that sooner. Or you will be informed earlier that there are still 2 Survivors on that Gen.

Don't forget that it'll break sound somewhere.

It would be an easy win in some ways, but not so much in others. For what it's worth, there are people out there who prefer the longer cooldown. Having a loud noise go off every 8 seconds can be distracting and cause you to miss other loud noises (failed skill checks) or impair your hearing in a chase.
Pros:
- T3 would arguably be better afterwards, and it would all make sense.
Cons:
- Everyone who left it at T1 would have to get the T3 version on all of their killers.
- Anyone who does like the longer time in between can't downgrade.
That said, we are aware of Discordance. We know that there's people out there who prefer tier 1 over tier 3. But at the same time, it's a low priority since it's not really hurting anyone as is and you can choose not to level it up if you prefer the lower tiered version of it.

Is mid chapter patch gonna be delayed due the covid-19? Are we gonna get also an april developer update? <3

I rather tier 3. The highline stands more time and so i have more time to see it if something else was calling my attention when i got notified.

People who like the quicker notifications though can't downgrade either if the entity forces them to take tier 2/3. The explanation makes sense, though.

I think some perks shouldn't have tiers. Disco and Sloppy come to mind. Would be nice to declutter the bloodweb.

Thanks for the explanation.

That's part of the problem though. Although we can choose to not level it up, what happens if we are forced too on early bloodwebs?

How is a lower Surveillance tier better? The increased time on the yellow aura is way better to me, especially since Surveillance is (in my opinion) better than Discordance on stealth killers, with a possible exception of Myers.

Why would they delay the midchapter? It's programming. It can all be done, theoretically, at home over Skype calls. Or Discord, or any other calling service.
0 -
Well it can be different you know, worth asking :)

For the same reason as Discordance. The survivor could tap the gen and be long gone by the time you show up
0 -
Well, yeah, but a shorter timer doesn't exactly help you there, unlike Discordance. You can use the extra time of the aura to plan your next move.
It doesn't trigger multiple taps or extended repair sessions, unlike Discordance.
