Will the clown ever be reworked?
So after an incredible Doctor rework, I just hope and hope for a Clown rework. The clown has so many issues:
1) He provides an audio cue when he is going over windows (why was this ever a thing?)
2) He is designed as a "chase" hero, but his chase is actually quite weak and reloads take forever.
I enjoy playing the clown, but inevitably when I get to red ranks as killer it is so much harder to play him. It is easier to switch to killers with stronger kits (like the awesome new doc).
Please rework the clown! :P

I have high hopes for a Clown rework. Clown has so much potential in his bottles.

Use his addons, they're surprisingly good.

His add-ons are good, but they only give Clown what he should already have. Reloading takes too long in general and Thick Cork Stopper should be base. Starling Feather is also required because Clown for no reason slows himself when he throws a bottle. Flask of Bleach is another required add-on because his bottles never seem to slow the Survivors enough.
Clown is one of those Killers I feel like I need 4-5 add-on slots to make up for the lackluster power.

I don't think clowns rework (and I hope beyond hope it's coming) is anywhere in the near future for the simple fact that a lot of strong maps are getting reworked. Clown has a very specific anti-loop power whose power depends on both the strength of the loop and the tiles it is next to. Because normally survivors can just drop pallets, clown is weak. If strong pallets become a more precious resource because they don't get chained together, clown gets a little stronger. Don't get me wrong, I still think he's super weak, but it's a tricky situation because killer powers have to take into account map design.

Bubba first!!!

His reload speed wouldn't be such a pain if it reloaded bottles individually. If I stop reloading half way, I could at least get one or two bottles back.
And the time the gas clouds hang around need to be more reliable. It's just like bamboozle. It's usually timed up by the time they loop back over.

Probably not a rework but buffs imo.

Perhaps or at least he will be buffed somehow. I don't think it takes that much to make him competetive, I mean I have no problem taking down purple solo teams with him but all red rank teams you see how much weaker he is compared to most if not all other killers.

Theres nothing they can do for clown, just like Bubba lol.

Make his cloud cause deep wounds
-BOOM-
instantly better

Was that sarcasm?
0 -
No, deep wounds makes or breaks a killer, that’s why all the good ones have it.
0 -
Oh uh well you see you have to be physically injured to have the deep wound status effect.

Learn how to mindgame his audio cues and don't spam bottles on one survivor. Clown's chase is very strong, you probably just play him poorly; just like the hard majority of the dbd playerbase. So exasperrating to keep seeing so many misinformed people spam the popular opinion like sheep.
That's my response to you.

Leatherface's chainsaw should inflict deep wounds instead of insta-downing. Instant S-tier killer.

Counterpoint: Legion
checkmate

You get 1 or 2 of those addons for every bloodweb so you can basically use them every match. Flask of bleach, its very hard to loop him.

I mean, this is obviously a joke, but if Clown's bottles inflicted Deep Wounds, especially on the cloud, that would give him a better version of Redhead's Pinky Finger (his best Ultra Rare) and let him essentially instadown Survivors crazily fast. It would, unironically, be a buff that would probably put him firmly into mid-tier above many other Killers. The fastest, laziest way to buff Clown would actually probably be to make Redhead's Pinky Finger part of his base kit and design a new UR to replace it. (I really want an UR that makes his most recent cloud last forever until he creates a new one)
Anyway, I actually kinda like his stupid heart attack vaults as it's a creative way to give him a unique disadvantage in looping despite him being- Though one of his Addons removing the noise would be very much appreciated as an option.
I personally think a Clown rework should focus on giving his power more utility aside from just chasing, and rethinking its use in chase so it isn't so polarising with Addons. IMO some of his stronger addons should be reworked so they don't feel mandatory (like Flask of Bleach) but more power should be put into his base kit- Eg. A new "slow pallet drop" animation that triggers when a Survivor tries to drop a pallet while intoxicated, that offers more opportunity for a Clown to attack through it would be cool.
I would also want his power to be more viable for purposes like detecting Survivors or map pressure. Reworking bottle reloading could go a long way towards encouraging Clowns to throw bottles across the map towards gens for example.
Part of the reason why killers like Billy or even Trapper (despite always being mid-tier) have aged well is because they're not "one-note" characters. Billy's chainsaw is good for map pressure, can deal with pallets fast, and can instadown in specific situations. Trapper can shut off loops, access points, end chases quickly if he's smart or just catch a free hook out of nowhere with a great placement. Powers are at their best when you can get creative with their use instead of putting a Killer in the "you're the anti-loop killer" box, especially when many other Killers also have antiloop tools.

Or just make his stomach jiggle more, come on devs give us what we want!

Is there a way we can just get the deep wounds by itself, I don’t want it to be too op

Tbh if the maps and gen speed issues were fixed I don't think the Clown would need hardly any buffs at all. His problem is to many super safe loops, god loops and well the typical stupid huge maps/super short gen times.
0 -
Honestly LF needs it first.
At least Clown can slow people down. All Bubba has is M1 until he gets his first down at the end of the game.
0 -
They're not sheep. Clown has chase potential when the survivor counterplays him incorrectly. You should never get a hit at a jungle gym with Clown because the survivor should never be looping it conventionally against a Clown in the first place. All he has is chase and his chase doesn't guarantee him hits at loops that aren't already unsafe without his power, unless the survivor mis-plays it.

He needs multiple gas types that he can change between to help him in different situations
Slow gas: his normal gas he has now
Speed gas (blue): A gas that increase the clowns speed for 50 seconds but also increase the speed of survivors when they are in the cloud and a couple seconds out of it. Useful for getting around the map but not chasing
Corrosive gas (Yellow): A gas that when thrown at a gen regresses the gen at double the rate of a kick and stops survivors from working on that gen for 30 seconds or 15% of the gen
Lingering gas (grey): A long lasting gas that is hard to see for survivors when survivors go into the cloud are reveal to the clown via killer instinct. The survivor also has their hud hidden and leave a trail of gas behind them while inside this cloud and 15 seconds after they leave.
Mixed gas (red): When 2 different gas cloud types touch they become mixed. When survivors go into the cloud they can't do anything but move. When the clown enters this gas he gains 20% faster pallets and gen kicking, window vaulting, successful hit cooldowns and locker opening. Mixed gas is not affected by addons

I'll back your idea if you back mine I want jaws theme for chase it's beginning for terror radius and a shark costume.

@edgarpoop you're joking right? So, you're actually telling me that the only way that a Clown gets a hit is if someone makes a mistake against him? Wow, how the hell is that even accurate. Yes, you run and loop tiles differently vs Clown; every killer forces you to run tiles in a different way.
And yes, it is accurate to say that the community sheep popular opinion. No one knows about mindgaming Clown's audio cues, they all say "this is a dumb mechanic, change it; why was it even designed like this!?" Without stopping to be like "hey, you can do this with it at these tiles."
People need to get out of this 'streamers are the authority on the games they play' mindset. Just because people film themselves playing, does not mean they know everything or are actually good at the game etc etc etc. People say Clown is rubbish for so many reasons, even though, those same people suck so badly at playing him. (I could name names but who the hell wants to go down that route?)
I would also say this, maps are being shrunk, tiles are being spaced out, "infinites" are disappearing, will you people still sheep that Clown is a rubbish and poorly designed killer when you have zero excuses, apart from lack of skill, to not have pressure on maps?

1) He provides an audio cue when he is going over windows (why was this ever a thing?)
In a recent match against a Clown I noticed his grunts cover the sound made by Bamboozle when blocking a window. Maybe it's intentional?
0 -
I never really thought about that. I always thought the grunts were to be used as a sort of fake out by tossing a bottle and not actually vaulting the window. That’s a cool find and I may use bamboozle on my Clown now.
0 -
Totally agree with this, bubba was an unfinished character the devs admitted and almost 80% (maybe more) of his add ons are useless

Will Legion ever get a rework or update?
0 -
He's a big fat man, he is supposed to grunt.
1 -
He's nuts with Nemesis+PWYF and charge speed, but he's missing the variety of killers like hag and trapper, that are actually good designed.
