From what I know from my younger brother (He loves Nintendo) Amiibo isn't popular and never was because the Wii u failed. I don't think it would work well, especially when you see someone like Hillbilly, Clown or some other twisted maniac in a shop for children.

Well it is starting to come back because of the switch and smash bros ultimate and I think it wouldn't matter much because snake bayonetta are mature rated characters, and nintendo has started to publish m rated games on switch

    I still don't know.

You have to remember majority of the Nintendo Switches audience is young, so if they were to release Amiibo that were serial killers it would leave a bad impression on the brand.

I also don't really know what they could be used for.

I'm with @CheersTC on this one,

as someone who does own a Switch (but has no intention of playing DBD on the switch unless cross progression were implemented) the amiibo's are not desirable for me in the slightest, more than anything they are just gimmicks. And in most games that they are available to be used they have a very gimmick-y purpose. Again these are grotesque, monstrous, serial killers we're talking about, not action heroes like Snake or Bayonetta. I can't even begin to imagine what an Amiibo for The Doctor might look like with his eyelids literally being pried open, or the Spirit who's completely cut up and has floating severed limbs, over even the Plague who's got disgusting boils and infected skin all over her body.

If you just want an action figure or collectible of the DBD characters (which many people do want) you're better off pushing for Funko Pops like Paulie Esther is trying to do, or other brands which have historically produced and marketed these kinds of products to audiences who appreciate the horror genre and history.

Not freakin Nintendo of all companies.
