What is point of add on nerf?

Exactly what was accomplished nerfing items to where if you dont even use a smidge of it and escape you lose the add ons regardless?

Just petty more than anything dont understand why it was ever necessary lol

I honestly have no idea, it made me stop playing survivor even more.

It is so random, came out of nowhere and I had only seen one or two people suggest it once.

It's like the devs didn't even consider the situation survivors are in. Their bloodwebs have 55 different addons and 5 items, each with different rarities. Add to that the amount of map, luck and bloodpoint addons they also get. So they're less likely to not get the addons they're looking for and have to spend a lot of bp to get a decent chance of getting them. This is much harder than for killers that have less addons, doesn't have to buy their power, but also gain a significantly bigger amout of bloodpoints each game. This change is espacially hurting new players they have very little at the start of the game.

Still hope they revert the change someday...though knowing BHVR, it's most likely never gonna happen.

I guess most people would love to see this change reverted. But I have the same opinion - if you just put a little bit of thought into it you will notice that it is a bad idea. So I have to assume that the Devs did not put any thought into it. The fact that they always ignore this topic and never said anything about there reasoning is even more confirming that.

So "It's like the devs didn't even consider the situation survivors are in" is pretty damn true.

You stop playing survivors because you cant bring EXTRA items?

    Jeez....

Not the person you quoted but it’s more like... for example, if I’m trying to do a tome challenge for healing, and I bring a medkit with some add ons, and then I go against a Plague... I just get punished for not being psychic enough to know which killer I’d face. I can’t use my item or my add ons, which would be ok, except that I lose the add ons I couldn’t even use, meaning I have less for the next time I try.

As add on dependent as killers are, at least we can use the add ons we pick.

It doesn't make sense for survivor IMO.

The keyowrd is consistency. That was already used to change killer addon rarity levels to match other killers (2 ultra rares, 4 rares etc, Myers and Billy/Bubba gonna face this as well soon I guess) and for example power attacks not counting on several perks anymore (for example pig dash, Legion Frenzy).

So killers always lose their addons, Survivors always lose their addons. You could now argue about the main item compared to killer power. Well, yeah, this isn't comparable. Killers can't lose their power. Is this unfair? Not sure, survivors are not really relying on items at all. Some killers are. I think the second reason for this might be balancing, because a team of good survivors bringing 4 good items stacked with good addons have a pretty much increased change of surviving, increasing chances to keep all the items and addons in the game for multiple games. Like 4 commodius toolboxes with spire wool and socket swivels. Or rainbow maps combined with keys.

Can't say how much difference it makes to remove the addons, but I don't miss them too much. Just the very good ones, which is probably good that you cannot spam them anymore

maybe because killers lose addons so survivors should lose addons too?

idk, I mean, personally I don't give a ######### about that, there wasn't any logical thought behind this change, just random. At first I thought you would lose addons if you would have fully consumed the item, but then I understood it was just a random change.

I dont use add ons on killer nor do I use items for survivors.

And yeah, way to create the one single scenario where it might be a bit of a waste....now compare that to the 20 other killers we have and the fact that plague is not even populair and yeah....

I like this response. Thank you for somewhat clarifying it. =]
