Well....at least it worked for the survivors since their ranks were close together. That’s more than what matchmaking usually does.

Actually that is matchmaking working as intended.

A while back I think the devs mentioned that in order for White Ranks to get quicker games, they have virtually no matchmaking so they will be matched with people from the other extreme side of the aisle. I could be wrong though, and I'd like to be proven wrong because it is a rather inconveniencing way to fix the long matchmaking in White Ranks.

One killer perk and its Bloodhound. *sigh* I'd definitely have to agree that isn't even close to being a fair matchup.

But with this matchmaking how white ranks are supposed to Pip?They made this cause almost nobody is on the white ranks right? Then how they are supposed to get out of the white rank? They cannot pip.

I can't tell you, that's why I said it is a rather inconveniencing way to fix White Ranks matchmaking. It is literally throwing a kitten into a lion's den.

So, their working as intended model is to not keep new players? Because if that is the case, new players are going to have to sweat like hell to pip and get out of white ranks.

    Most will move on first.

I'm sure some survivor mains are going to say "Nothing's wrong with the MM. There is no killer shortage" Or some bs. This is happening on a daily basis. I don't know how you can spin it to look like there aren't many people playing killer.

I know that you commented when it was only 1 picture, but now check the other two.

It's sad when you get more enjoyment out of a mobile version of the same game that has killer ai....

That's terrible, I'm sure they get traumatized by that experience

So its better to have no Match than an outranked Match? facepalm

That survivor is a whopping 18 ranks above that killer. GG, devs.

So you'd rather have someone who is under ranked suffer, instead of waiting an extra minute or two to find a game with someone in your rank?

This isnt ideal but not that bad. Other games are much worse. This game doesn't have a high skill cap but compare this with a game like apex legends. You can be just level 10 (3 hrs playtime) and can verse full sweaty squads with multiple thousands of hours every lobby. That's some insane disbalance. Compared to that DbD looks pretty fine

Yeah Ive pretty much just given up with apex legends because of that-no doubt my gameplay with that particular game is just generally bad but I found it incredibly difficult to get the chance to get better . When I started DBD I thought "what have I got myself into here, I'm gojng to get nowhere" but after a few games I could tell my gameplay was getting better eventhough I was losing and now I win matches. So yeah, I agree-DBD certainly isn't perfect but there are worse games out there

And the problem is compounded by the changes to rank reset. Now most of the newbie survivors are in red ranks because it’s almost impossible not to end up there if you play survivor semi-regularly. If they’d kept the old rank reset then the less challenging survivors would have hovered around green ranks, and new killers would have more of a chance against them than this Russian roulette of facing current red ranks. You could get potato survivors, or you could get sweat squads. At least with the old rank reset sweat squads would end up red rank fast and casual players would take longer to rank up, and new killers would end up facing casual players.

A minute? Its not about a minute or two, it would take considerable more time. But i guess you still want to wait like half an hour than playing an outranked match. Makes no sense, but hey.

I had the same kind of matches yesterday. I've had like yellow mixed into red/purple ranks earlier but yesterday was the first time (on console btw) my team had 3 grey and me as a red rank and the killers were either yellow or grey/brown. Also the waiting times even as a solo survivor have been abysmal in the past week.

They said in in one of their streams that the they will be "tracking" people's skill in the upcoming months and testing the new matchmaking behind the scenes. Maybe this is it and they changed the matchmaking parameters or something.

This week I've only had one unbalanced match (rank 13 killer against four red rank survivors) and to be honest it was one of the most boring games I've had. I'd rather wait 20 minutes and have a fun challenging game then wait 5 minutes and have a boring game.

It’s just a temporary fix while working on the new system. It’s really a damned if they do damned if they don’t scenario as there isn’t enough survivors in that area for new killers to get matches quickly. This is as made a lot worse due to the swf matchmaking changes which the community asked for.

So you either have an unbalanced match so they can at least get a game or they wait upwards of 30 mins to play. No scenario is ideal in reality as they both hurt the new player experience but IMO being able to at least play has to be the better option for now.
