How is this ranking system at all fair? (Xbox)

I have nothing against these survivors; they played as I expect someone at higher ranks to without trolling or being toxic but come on. It makes me wanna play the game less and less when I go up against players I have little to no chance of winning against; it makes me want to play even less when the red/purple ranked survivors I play against are trolls, which has been a recurring problem for me lately. Queue times for survivor on Xbox are already stupid long; the other day I waited more than twenty minutes to get into a game. How do the devs hope to increase their player base if the newer players are constantly pitted against red and purple ranks and bullied until they rage quit?

This is why you got matched with them. They probably waited 20 minutes to get your game, and you were just unlucky to start a search when they were next in the queue.

I'm rank 1 killer I get rank 10's and lower sometimes. It happens. You got 2 though, with baby perks (as in not tier 3), AND one had a key, so props at least. Every green rank killer that gets my 4 man rank 1 SWF can't even get 1 kill.

PS. Also a lot of rank 1 survivors I know have at least 1 smurf account, so even if you got survivors close to your ranks there is a decent chance they are smurfs on Xbox. I have 2. I don't bully killers tho, I just mess around, help the random ACTUAL rank 13's or whatever escape then let the killer kill me. I mean, someone is gonna do them dirty, might as well be me then I give 'em a freebie. Good practice for when you face the toxic ones that will try to bully you and make you hate it.

This happened to me quite a lot but it didn’t stop me from playing. Yeah it can be frustrating to play but it can help you improve by a lot. I main nurse now.

How many people have to reply to these threads with “they’re linking into it,” the stream they first talked about looking into it was last October or November I think...

At some point you have to be really gullible to think it’s actually going to ever be changed for the better

It's not going to change unfortunately. I don't care what bhvr or anyone else says it is not a problem with match making. When I play rank 1 killer any time day or night I get red rank survivors. When I play rank 1 survivor in the morning or early afternoon my lobby times are quick and I get red rank killers. When I play in the evening my wait times are horrendous and I get killers from green to yellow ranks. The only logical explanation is that during hours where more people play there just are not enough red rank killers to go against all the red rank survivors.

The only way to fix this would be to make pipping as survivor somewhat challenging so that not everyone with 2 hands is able to get to rank 1 playing survivor. The good news is that most survivors you go against that are red ranks are no better than who you would get matched with at green ranks, they just play the game more. So basically just hang in there and you will improve. Especially when you do get matched against people deserving to be red ranks. Better competition will help improve your skill.
