Dying in struggle phase

Something is happening and the last 2 times I've been in struggle phase my character just gives up no matter how fast I hit the a button on xbox 1. Is anyone else experiencing this suddenly? This makes playing survivor unplayable

Hitting it too fast can cause you to die as well. When you press it super fast the game doesn't register it very well.

You only have to hit it like 3-4 times a second, you can meter out your struggle mashing and save your thumb/fingers/controller in the long run.

Too slow AND too fast will kill you. Atleast that's how it works on pc so it's probably the same there.

You may be pressing it too fast or too slow, but it also won't allow you to struggle if you are the last person left in the game.

If there is a lag, you will die despite hitting the button. This game is often laggy on console, so this happens from time to time.

There is also a problem with struggling on console where you will die even mashing the button if you are using your thumb stick to try and track the killer

I just had it give up automatically on me one of the earlier games of this patch for me. I started pressing my struggle key, and this was maybe 4 times a second or so, so maybe a little fast but I wasn't mashing it with all I got or anything. And it struggled for about a second and then just killed me. This wasn't even while everybody was struggling, since they added that change recently. I was the first one to die because of it, and all my other team mates were fine.

I'm still confused as to why it happened. Lag I guess.

If you this happened and you were the last person hooked, you do immediately die.

If you are hooked and in struggle phase, and your other teammate(s) are also hooked and in struggle phase, everyone now dies immediately. That is a change since the patch release on Tuesday.

If others are alive and unhooked, and you're just dying because it's not registering your struggle, try pacing it a little slower, not faster. Sometimes if you hit the button too fast, it doesnt register.

This is why they need to add auto struggle.
