The Fairplay Rulelist

Well i thought i will give it a Shot and try to make a Fairplay list of how the game become more fun to play for both sides.

Play the game to have fun with each other. Not to bully the Killer or the survivors.

Be respectful. If I have to explain this one with things like "no teabagging" "no notification spam" "no flashlight spam", then you already lack respect, and the common sense to follow this rule. If you don't understand then you are the problem with the game.

Killer:

- Do NOT Camp. It just costs everybody bloodpoints.

- Do NOT Tunnel. If you See there is someone getting a survivor off the hook. Let your wraith punish those who got them off the hook.

-CONSIDER YOUR RANK when choosing add-ons. Unless you're above Rank 5, nobody likes seeing twin Pink add-ons, ESPECIALLY below Rank 15.

- LAST MATCH is no excuse to bring an Ebony Mori and kill off first hook. We all have bad matches. Get over it.

Survivor:

- Do NOT bodyblock. Better manupilate the hook the killer is about to go.

- Do NOT teabag. Obvious it leads to no where and just means to harm the killer.

-ABUSE PERKS at your OWN RISK. Decisive Strike/Borrowed Time/Unbreakable does not make you immune to a killer

You are welcome to apply rules for fair play. I will try to edit them in, try to quote so i better can find them.

Thanks

One for both to consider as a disclaimer. - Unless provoked, please try to adhere to these guidelines. The other side's existance is not provocation. If there are signs of toxicity, then all rules may be ignored.

    Survivor:

-BE CAUTIOUS when using a flashlight. Blinding at pallets or rapid clicking are invitations for tunnelling.

-ABUSE PERKS at your OWN RISK. Decisive Strike/Borrowed Time/Unbreakable does not make you immune to a killer.

    Killer:

-CONSIDER YOUR RANK when choosing add-ons. Unless you're above Rank 5, nobody likes seeing twin Pink add-ons, ESPECIALLY below Rank 15.

    - LAST MATCH is no excuse to bring an Ebony Mori and kill off first hook. We all have bad matches. Get over it.

    Survivors:

Don't last second switch from Babydwight to P3 Claudette with Clicky Clicky.

This is a free invitation to get tunneled and camped :)

    For both sides:

    Enjoy the silly moments.

For the endgamechat: If you have nothing nice to say, be quiet.

Once someone is toxic, everything is allowed.

I don't understand the issue with blinding at pallets? It can be used to make distance if the killer chooses the wrong way when blinded. It is a perfectly valid use of a torch.

No such thing as perk abuse, only use.

I agree on ebony moris though. Tunnelling off first hook for it is stupid.

lol the survivor rulebook is it ?

I follow my own rulebook and that is to just simply be

Respectful. Every player whether they are killer or survivor just wants to have fun and play the game. Despite any differences we all do share this interest in playing this game, so I treat others how I would want to be treated.

Is the survivor team struggling and having a rough time? I'll loosen up and give them additional time and chances if just to get some more blood-points, don't camp, don't tunnel it is both obnoxious and will cause you to lose and it just gets everyone tilted, don't bm the survivors in any way other then a cheeky spin if the situation is appropriate just be decent

Now if I run into a survivor pointing at me and being obnoxious, and its not because hes trying to divert my attention away from his team (Which is something I quite respect and don't have any problem with)

Ohohohohoho, all bets are off for him, the Trapper's basement is his FUTURE!

Getting torched at a pallet is infuriating and kinda inflammatory. Especially if I don't do any underhanded tactics. I may be a Stealth Killer, but you have eyes.

As for perk abuse, bodyblocking with Borrowed Time and 60 second "immunity" with Decisive Strike are widely considered to be an abuse of power when it comes to these perks. Bodyblocking with BT allows for some INCREDIBLY unsafe hooks to go off with relative safety. Some survivors also think that having DS will make a killer "respect" them as they go to make stupid mistakes or reckless actions, such as those safe unhooks or doing a generator in the killer's face and feeling immune while doing so as a killer SURELY doesn't want the 5 second stun and to be labelled as a tunneller, right?

THAT is perk abuse. Use and abuse is a fine line in DbD. It takes a bit to know when it's been crossed.

I have those things happen in my games, don't care if they want to use their perks, part of the game. If you fall for the borrowed time body block then that is your choice but if you hit them and they have to go mend, what difference does it make? It isn't like the other person has vanished by this point. Far too many people who play mostly killer take it far too seriously. Just keep reminding yourself it is just a game.

In no way, shape or form am I going to become "infuriated" by someone torching me at a pallet. If that is regularly happening to you I suggest you switch the game off. There is a whole lot of ######### going on in the world that you should be infuriated by and being torch blinded in a game(which is a valid use of a torch) is not one of those things.

    Survivors:

-Don't teabag a killer unless they've camped or tunneled needlessly.

    -Don't bring Keys.

-If you're in an SWF, limit your team to two items. You already have a huge advantage. No need to make that advantage greater.

-If you bring Bloody Party Streamers, make sure the killer gets some blood points too. Don't go around denying them hooks unless they're a camper.

-Don't save someone while in the killer's terror radius unless you have Borrowed Time

-Don't use the hook tech. It's an exploit.

-If you're in a SWF, none of you should offer a map offering unless it's a killer favored map. Again, you already have a huge advantage. Facing a full SWF on Hadonfield with everyone having balanced landing is not going to be fun for most people.

    Killers

    -Don't camp.

-Don't tunnel. Go for the person unhooking over the person who was unhooked. If you want to punish them for an unsafe hook, down the saved player, but leave them on the floor to be picked up by their team.

-Don't hit people on the hook, and don't nod your head at them on the hook unless they teabagged you. Nodding at them anywhere else is fine. (And let's face it, its adorable when survivors and killers nod at each other)

-Don't punish survivors because your LAST match wasn't any fun. The survivors you'll be facing aren't responsible for the actions of the people who came before them.

-Don't Mori people straight off their first hook.

-Only bring a Mori if everyone's got an item

My only rule book is this: be gracious. If you’re wiping the floor with the other side, don’t start BMing in match and spamming “ezzzzz” in chat. Just play the match, enjoy your victory and move on.

Everything else - perks, playstyles, add ons, items, etc. - are all fair game. But if you use something cheesy don’t be surprised if people complain about it.

Survivors - Don't loop the killer around a teammate on a hook. Lead the killer away.

    Blinding at pallets is fine

Dancing at exit gates for entire etc is meaningless. Just leave

Killer - Bring whatever add ons you want despite rank. You never know what survivors you will face. For instance, im rank 13 and faced almost all red ranks last night

Camp only if you see people around.

Tunnel all neas with flashlights and janes. They are both annoying lol

If you bring a mori, do your best to hook everyone before you start killing people. That or bring devour hope also. This way if people complain about the mori, you can just say DH!

I have a simple rule: don't do to the other side what you hate being done to you when you play that side.

DISCLAIMER: it requires playing both sides.

    Oh oh! Ive got one!

Play the game however you want, as long as it's not hacking or exploiting, because THESE RULES ARE IMAGINARY AND IN NO WAY AFFECT THE GAME. It's a game. Play it, enjoy it, repeat. If you have to follow made up rules, to believe that others will, just to have fun, maybe play something else. Its obvious you dont enjoy the game if you have to add rules and guidelines for people to follow that in no way are actual rules.

Yes of course everyone may play his own way in the "physics" rules there are given.

But to have some manners and respect for the other side or other players i find myself playing the way I want to be faced at.

Its nothing i say everybody have to do.

I do wish we got better emotes because some things are not translating well. Had a match where the killer gave me a jump scare and I took a hit to hop through a window. I pointed at him while laughing and saying "you are one scary killer. You almost gave me a heart attack!" Of course he took it as toxic and tunneled me, ruining the lighthearted nature I meant it in. After game chat cleared it up and he felt bad because he would have rather enjoyed a lighthearted match.

I've had a Claudette that kept pointing after pallets and figured she was just toxic, but she was just trying to point out that she knew who I was as a player and enjoyed matches with me. I guess she recognized my Trapper outfit and play style. Thankfully I did not camp or tunnel and ruin the fun of it all. Was a good match and I gave the 4th the hatch.

    We need more emotes.

I also like, when i'm playing killer and it was a bit to easy to let the last survivor escape. Sometimes i bear them to the hatch or exit, just for the gg
