locker flashlight tech
how on earth can I counter this? I get that this is an extremely hard thing to land and you need to be very coordinated to pull it off. However taking reference from a game i just played on the suffocation pit two players with flashlights could get into lockers near each and by pulling one out the other has ample time to hop out and save. Sure i could leave them and go for the other two that i might find but then it still leaves two players to do gens. Sorry if this sounds like i am just rambling/ranting.

I wondered how long the copy cats would take, I would say just leave and go after the other two on gens. Most likely these two will follow you trying for plays anyways and not do gens

lightborn is about the only way to counter it if you entertain it. I wouldnt waste my time on anyone doing this nonsense

The problem with having a tech with only 1 counter is that all killers have to run the counter. Trapper could counter this tech but not many low tier killers can fight this strat without anchoring yourself to 3 perk slots. Whenever I play killer now if someone brings a flashlight whispers comes off and lightborn goes on simple as that.
The same can be said about survivor and bt. Survivors have been anchored to 3 perk slots bc of the strat many killers can fall back on and they do so often that I can never not run bt. If there is a problem in this game releasing a perk to address it is not the way. Fast actions to distract me while I'm chasing someone is one instance where I'm still looking for a solution. I'm all ears is not useful at all.

Its not a "tech" stop calling it that. How to counter it? Find the survivors nearby

You can’t find them if they’re both in a locker.

Ignore them. THey're not the threat as they're both not doing anything. You want the other two that are most likely on gens.

I've seen this in one of Usyllis' Videos, where he did it with a mate. When I saw it (like the one where he did the "Unhook Tech" that got fixed now), I was like: -.- now I will have to deal with this too......
I will just dodge the lobby if there's more than one FL or just use Franklin's or Lightborn then, or just search the area. Or I will ignore them, because these people tend to get cocky.

I thought the same, but the timing and coordination is a bit tough. I think 9/10 times the people trying this actually HURT the team, it’s like that moron who follows up chasing someone but had no real idea how to do a flashlight save or body block hooks.
Im not panicking about it yet, for now I’ll enjoy smacking the people who love to try copy their YouTube idols and fail miserably at it

Leave them alone until you find them out-positioned. You are literally wasting your time by going after them when they're doing this - and this is all they want, to waste your time as much as possible.
Also, while it may seem like an OP thing to do, it is actually not. It is quite hard to get the correct angle on a locker save. Even in the recent video from Usyllis and his friend you can see that they failed multiple times in one match. I had a person try to pull this on me yesterday. Didn't work for them. That person quickly found out that it is not as easy as it looks.
As always, go for the weak links doing the gens, and get rid of them. After that you can completely focus on the two that are causing you trouble. If you do this right, you will have about 3 gens to spare. That means that they will have to do gens if they want to get out. When that happens you'll single them out easily, and hook them without issue.

Just ignore or find the player that isn't in a locker. It's simple, you see 2 players hop in 2 lockers, obviously swf. Ignore em and don't give them the satisfaction to have fun. They will be forced to do gens or follow you around which is just as disappointing for them as to do gens.

Exactly my thought on this. The timing for Saves when someone is grabbed out of a locker is super tight. And most Survivors cannot use Flashlights correctly under normal circumstances, so even less players will be able to pull this off.

Never seen it, in 5,000+ hours of DBD at rank 1. If it's a SWF you can tell because the lobby fills up at the same time, and you prepare accordingly (aka slap on the ebony).

Most of the commnuity cant even pull of flashlight saves and the locker flashlight is wayyy harder

It got no counter. Currently only a few people use this tech, but after more people learn to use it there will be an uproar and a nerf probably.

You can put on lightborn or franklins if you see 3+ flashlights in the lobby. I don't, because I still don't mind flashlights enough to waste a perk slot to counter them, but it's still something you can do.
As I said, you can tell it's SWF if the entire lobby joins at the same time, and you can sometimes check profiles to confirm your suspicions.
I am way more scared of keys than I will ever be of flashlights. I was way more scared of toolboxes than flashlights before they got nerfed into the ground.

Franklins doesn't work because they can just pick it back up again.
Lightborn is okay, but no ensurance against blinds, just requires different timing.
Keys are a problem too, i agree.

or just check around? this is not common at all

To be fair, it requires a lot of skill to pull of but yeah there is no counter except lightborn.

It is really hard to get blinded when using Lightborn, you basically only get blinded when you keep looking at the Flashlight. I use Lightborn when I have 3 Flashlights in a Lobby and I even look at them for longer while carrying a Survivor and they dont get the Blind.

Run Iron Maiden? Lightborn? Look around for a survivor?

I have to admit, i only got flashlighted with lightbornin two matches in 1.5k hours from survivors with over 7k hours. It's really difficult and usually only works predictively during pickup animations and vaults.

If it annoyed you run doc and get them to tier 3. If they are running head on then bait them out of the locker. Don't know what you mean by tech but anything involving flashlight can be countered.

I just dont entertain the locker tech. I let em sit there while i look for the others who are trying to do objectives.

by tech I just mean them flashlight saving whilst i am in the locker grab animation

You could always just not grab the survivor out the locker and hit the one who goes for the flashlight save. You don't need a perk to do that...

Franklin's does work. If you hit them, they have dropped the flashlight, AND are wounded. They can stick around and try and pick up the flashlight, and risk getting downed, or they can run away, then come back to get it later, making them waste time. If they run off, then you can just grab the person in the locker. I've got downs because players were so focused on getting their item back that they took bad risks.

Head on exists. Most tech users use that too to avoid those situations.

Drop survivor or look around . If there s someone to save he has to be close. It doesnt really differs from regular flashlight.
