Funny you say that, cause i got a degree in history and my job is related to that (not only western history btw).
So no, i'm not ignoring that xD. But compare both situations and times is simply dumb (trying to be as respectful as i can right now) because they are not related at all.
"oh, people used to kill each other in the past, lets do something completely different and cry about petty things" it's not worse but it's not necessary either. Hope you get it now, but something tells me you won't (or won't be willing to understand at least)

I get that they were different times, but to say that people now are "too sensitive" when it's objectively better than before is taking a massive ######### on centuries of progress. Unless you live in a shithole like the USA, your chances of being killed just because someone's upset about something you said are virtually zero.

where i live i almost never saw open violence against others ( and if that happens its a quick call of the police and the slammer for the suspect.)

It's not a matter of better or worse, being too sensitive is simply unnecessary and harmful to yourself.
Some people lack of sense of humor, which i think is the path to be mentally stable, and those who are too sensitive are always bothered by meaningless things, making their own life worse without a real reason.

I was polite in the beginning, but after years of my logical arguments being ignored just to be insulted, I mostly gave up on this community.

I'm not that sensitive but if someone was like "Wow, such an idiot!" Then yes, that would hurt me and other males would probably end up fighting it out. I'm more of a chill and avoid the drama type of person, I'm not use to people saying stuff like that to me. However something tells me that this isn't how the world is. Overall, the lesson from this thread was to encourage more positive behavior.
