Civil Temp ban conversation
Okay so I just had a game on the swamp maps as hag. Hooked a survivor with 4 gens up and realized I couldnt move away from the hook. I was stuck between a tree, the hook and the survivor. I tried everything I could do to move out and came to the conclusion that the only way I could escape this fate was if A the survivor is rescued or B someone triggers a trap. Well neither worked and the survivors decided to heal instead of doing gens. Now do you seriously expect me to sit there and wait out 4 gens and the full EGC as survivors like to drag it along every game? So I made the call and quit thinking that the timer wouldnt be as bad as that torture. My point is, how are you going to have a timeout feature in your game, if its riddled with game breaking bugs? I get it, doing is a huge problem with this game and often runs everyone else's game. Aside from a survivor dcing on death hook or the killer ragequitting on the end game, it's a problem. But seriously devs! Your community is continuously telling you that the timeouts are a bad idea and you keep them in the game that they're paying money to you for without your community and people that play your game everyday, you're nothing. Sorry. The fastest way to lose them is to not listen to your longtime fans. Killers and survivors.
Thanks for reading.

So the one minute ban for your first DC was rough on you huh ?

Ehhhhhhh, I mildly agree. When my husband and I first started playing this game a few months back, we dealt with constant DC's during the load screen. Stopping his from doing it took me optimizing his PC and some Youtube videos to make this game run as smoothly as possible on a potato. Mine was literally just my controller, and that took me some fiddling to figure out. Never seen a game where if you have the controller plugged in during loading, you crash, and only on the first load screen of that playthrough. The recent patch seems to have cleared that up though.
Thankfully during this time there wasn't DC penalties. If there had been, we'd have ended up on a 24 hour timer and quit. There was just too much testing and adjustments that had to be made to make it run properly, by no fault of our own. Even the husband's potato has specs over what is suppose to be required.
Ninja Edit: And the reason I mildly agree, is DCing is a problem during games, but... Lets be real here, now people just suicide on hook if they want to rage quit.

In all my years of dbd I've crashed maybe 10 times prolly less. It decays in a day so if your leaving matches or experiencing bugs every single day to get that 8 hour ban yikes check up ur system
If the game was that buggy for me I wouldn't want to play tbh I'd really move onto another game.
Tho... it would be nice if a crash report could appeal and reset the timer
Best wishes

If the game'd be that unplayablable why care? I wouldn't even play for long enough to stack DC penalties that high if I encountered massive gamebreaking bug after gamebreaking bug.

The solution should be them optimizing their game, not telling people they shouldn't play something they paid for. And 2 hours on Steam isn't a very long time for a refund.

Sure, they should fix their game. The solution isn't disabling the DC penalty though.
Game breaking bugs are unfortunate and it sucks if you can't play normally. However DCing is still the players very own decision. If waiting the game out won't take any longer than the potential timeout one might have accumulated then why not wait it out instead oft DCing and not being able to play for an extended period of time?
DC penalties were desperately needed and there doesn't seem to be a huge and widespread bug causing mass-DCs and therefore undeserved timeouts to my knowledge.

Your first point about DCing as you said, hinges on them actually wanting to. And if they want to rage quit, they will just suicide on hook. I will say it requires a bit more effort though and probably does help marginally. Killers also get their kills this way.
My anecdotal evidence in comparison to yours is that I see a lot of people have technical problems with this game, and crashing is a routine one. There's topics on both Reddit and Youtube in fairly good amounts, not to mention here. It also just seems to be the norm and people accept it. Not trying to dis the developer's either, I'm sure they try their best and probably have their own bosses to answer to.
I'm also not even saying I want DC penalties to go - as it stands it doesn't effect me, personally. I can see the pros and cons though.

I was stuck between a tree, the hook and the survivor.
Did you wait till the survivor died atleast to see if you could move again?

Yeah heard killers are getting stuck more frequently in the new update.
A few of us said this would be a problem when the penalties came in but the shills were convinced that “only ragequitters had concerns about the penalties” so oh well. Leave the community to suffer them

Just got stuck in a pallet today. (As deathslinger)

I thought you didn't get a penalty if you DC before the match loads in?

Imagine writing a whole rant because you got a 5 minute ban lmao
0 -
Hm, dunno. Our issues occurred a few months before they implemented it.

That's not the point. If you want to troll someone go to YouTube. It wasnt even my point and no it wasn't my first temp ban. There was a storm that intermittently knocked out my power twice while I was in separate games before.did you even read my post?

Because I've played this game since it released on console and have sunk more time into it than any other game. It's not like I'm new and just started. The thing that's new is this ban system.

So, you played several games during a storm knowing that you could drop power?
