Y'all Really Hate Chests, Huh

On the forums I see that the biggest complaint about keys is that they can be found in chests. If you have no complaints about them, there's no reason they shouldn't spawn in chests like every other item. Besides, chests are niche enough as is and I would take Plunderer's over Head On or even Prove Thyself any day.

For me personally plunderers became fairly useless the moment they made toolboxes useless.

Thing is, Keys in Chests are a big RNG-Middlefinger. If you see a Key in the Lobby, you can at least prepare, put on a stronger Build to avoid getting to the point that more than one Survivor can escape or use Perks like Franklins.

But a Key which is found is... eh. I had it two days ago, Pig on Badham (somehow I only play Killer on Badham lately, especially with Pig...)... The managed to 3-gen themselves, 1 Gen in Shack, 1 Gen in the Two Story Building and one Gen next to said Building. They lost this game basically, got my first Kill, second Kill and the others escaped via Hatch. With a Key. Found without even using Plunderers.

And yes, this is frustrating, because at this point the Survivors had pure luck to find such a rare Item while actually throwing the game.

So I would happily see Key being changed, especially because I like their functions, but I dont want to bring a Key into my Survivor games.

That makes sense, getting cucked by RNG is a terrible feeling.

can killers get chests so we can have game changing add-ons suddenly appear mid match?

Like put a long open time on them

Make them only work open when gens have been completed already

Make them hard to find if you have to

Give survivors offerings like cut coin to limit spawns for killers

Free stuff = waste of killer time

    Risk>reward

    Edit

Actually make them only notify the killer after he hooks and very far away like BBQ and chili

So it gives killers another reason to leave the hook to reduce camping

I don't know where you are getting your information, but I rarely see people complain about in-trial keys to the same level as keys in general. Mostly it's just the fact that it nullifies an extreme portion of work the someone needs to do to escape. The fact that you can just find them mid-trial is just a big gfys on top of an already big FU.

Imagine if mori's could randomly activate mid trial. Not perks, 'kill' perks are completely different and ACTUALLY earned. Just a random Mori offering burns itself. Would that make it the biggest problem with mori's? No, the problem is that they exist in the first place. The RNG activation is just the razor-filled poisoned cherry on top.
