Hit Lag is killing me within seconds

This has been a problem since the game released, but most Survivors (at least, those of us peons playing on Console) know that when you take a hit, the game seizes for a brief moment. Sometimes it's worse than other times, and usually it's really no problem at all, really only being an issue in the early days of the game before all the patching. It's that moment where the game has to calculate all the effects/perks on you and apply them.

Lately, however, it's become bad, and the increase in sensitivity is making it so much worse. While I love being able to actually look around during a chase now, the setting means that while I'm pushing the stick to turn/move, the moment the game seizes makes me completely disoriented. I cannot tell where my character is facing or where the killer is, leaving me running in a circle right back into him, into a wall, or stuck on a tree while frantically trying to get away. This means I die exactly as fast as the killer can hit again.

I doubt I'm the only one who has this problem, as I can see it clearly when playing Killer as well. I hit someone running straight or toward a pallet or window, and when they take a hit they do not continue on but appear as if they are instantly running in a different direction, stuck into a corner they never would have hit otherwise. I don't know what's going on with this but it's been killing me even faster since the new update. I don't like to bring up seemingly minor issues, as the forums are cluttered enough, but I'm at R1 and my teammates are probably over there griping about the MM system or something.
